I know most of the dem attention has been on Virginia because it borders an ocean and poo poo, but there's been a rare good ending to a story here in Iowa with the elections. Diana Broderson, the mayor of Muscatine was re-elected with 59% of the vote. This matters because she was narrowly elected 2 years ago as a Democratic candidate more friendly to labor and minority communities in a river manufacturing town, and then spent her first term having every action blocked by the city council. This all culminated in the city council impeaching her in an insane sham trial (I believe the only impeachment of a mayor in Iowa's history) where the lead prosecutor was also the main witness against her. A court overturned the impeachment and removal from office a little more than a week before the election. Three of the city council members that pushed hard for her removal were also replaced.

so i dont check out twitter except for poo poo people post in cspam, p much, so maybe my sample is skewed, but why does it seem like an outsized portion of the anti-bernie twitter community is people, esp women, of color?? is sanders more unpopular/hillary way more popular w young people of color to that degree?? does twitters userbase demographically skew that way, or maybe twitter tries to algorithmically promote the voices of underrepresented groups??? basically, is it a coïncidence(/me seeing something thats not there); a reflection of political realities; or a reflection of the platform???? or something more complicated than that??
