Is the Costco gas line ever not an insane mess? I guess if you have a big car you might save more than $2 waiting in like for 15 mins with A/C blasting

I just want to get TO Costco gently caress out the way

My company got super confused because of veterans day falling on a Saturday, Considering the Federal Government and the Federal Reseve observe it on different days. Someone in sales got the bright idea to try and charge our Friday customers a holiday rate for service then got huge backlash from banking customers. It's always funny when higher ups in HQ stomp on their own dicks.

Weekends are almost always a lost cause, you mostly have to stick to weekdays or off-hours. I've had some luck with lunchtime runs. Around this area, premium tends to run $3.75 and Costco always has it for $2.99 or less, so I'll accept the long wait.

I legally can't work on federal holidays on my contract though, so that's cool.

I thought going during the week would work too but went on a random Wednesday and it was packed. Was really weird.

Costco gas isn't worth the wait unless you're saving enough to justify it. I loving hated it when the ex-wife would sit in line and wait for ten minutes when the station across the street was a penny or two more. Ten cents ain't worth ten minutes.

The pumps at the one in Memphis were always being lovely about reading debit cards. Nothing like waiting ten minutes to get to a pump and it refuses your transaction because the card reader is hosed and only reads 1/3 of cards swiped. Also not accepting Visa, because who the gently caress doesn't accept Visa? Costco. Or at least they didn't five years ago.

it's some weird sunk cost fallacy or some poo poo. People in their 10 gallon beaters sitting there cranking A/C just to save a bit. I'm sure in some cases it's justifiable. Trust me I'll go if there's no line.

Also I was largely naive to just how insufferable VETERAN FORMER SPECIAL FORCES owned companies were. Most just mean well, but yeah. I don't think this is "imported drama" but some vet coffee company got called the gently caress out in a reddit AMA and it was hilarious

Anybody listen to Turnpike Troubadours? They had a new album a few weeks ago and it's pretty drat good, called A Long Way From Your Heart.

Sad, depressing off-radio alt-country, well written and played. It's on amazon prime, with most the rest of their stuff. If you're a Jason Isbell or Drive-By Truckers fan, you might like these guys.

I have a couple steve martin albums, they're great for when I just want instrumental backwoods twang. I really like off chart country though, poo poo that never would play on the radio for fear of depressing people to a point of driving off the freeway in a suicidal bid to hit utility poles.

Ah, that's my poo poo. Hits the veins and makes you feel better about not living in buttfuck Georgia or Oklahoma or having a fat rear end wife with a half dozen kids in a trailer. Puts a smile on my soul.

She then argued that my fiance who's a veterinarian doesn't understand animal behavior. So that was fun.

I bought dinner like a fool, but it's good pizza. And the delivery chick was a cute Indian (dot) stoner in her early 20s. We briefly talked about getting high and watching Rick & Morty and she got a nice cash tip.

It's pretty much always at least 20%, she got closer to 30%, which is like, snow or lovely weather tip. Being fast and a cool person helps a lot too.

The reasons people choose to serve in the military vary but those who do earn a respect from me that is very special. The life of a soldier is not a easy life; time away from home, the physical pain and the moments lost with love ones are not a light load. My experience has made me a better a better man, a better father and a better human being. So as I️ take a moment of solemn reflection of the profession which has defined my life, I️ say thank you to my brothers who have sowed into my life, I️ say thank you to those who went before me and plowed the way, and I️ say thank you to the warriors who will take the next guard shift on watch so I️ and my family can sleep at peace.
