Do we all agree on when Errol Flynn hit peak vileness? I'm leaning towards the slave trading.

That's probably it, yeah, but there's something intensely hosed up and gross about finding a massacre survivor and thinking how much you want to gently caress her.

I'm not old enough to remember Errol and his films, but I'm old enough to remember the song "errol" by the band Australian Crawl. "Oh Errol, I would give everything, just to be like him" quote:Convict state E: Those are just the first lyrics I could download and quote, but it seems to miss an important line repeated after the second half. "Don't tell me it's true. I don't want to hear about it" I identified a lot with Will on this one. At first I thought oh Errol, this will be fun. Then Fo3 fucked around with this message at 13:25 on Nov 6, 2017 |

Listened to some old ones. 92 Owen Kildare is a very good one, a nice mix of 'jesus gently caress how did people used to live' and some very heartfelt moments too. 86 Tom Dennison is a good dollop in the sense that it will leave you shocked that it happened in fairly recent history.

Was Owen Kildare the Kipling of the Bowery? If that's a different one that'd be my favorite. Boxer courts a woman that teaches him to read and be proper, tells his cool story.

A couple of years ago the operator of one of those "biggest badass in history" websites, you know the type, where they use super casual or hyperbolic language for biographies of historical persons, called out dave because basically dave read out huge sections of a couple of his articles without attribution in a couple of dollops. If I remember specifically it was a Thing because this dude himself had a podcast which was just like reading his articles in a barely contained monotone or something Anyways I remember being on Daves side initially, but Dave acted really childish and overly defensive about it which made me less willing to defend him (as Dave is about Literally Any Criticism Ever) and it made me feel uncomfortable listening to it until I eventually stopped He apologized and stopping doing it, I think he has a researcher now and that's why there's sources on every podcast, so its not a thing and hasn't been for years
