Maybe there's an Osakan secret/tradition concerning raw garbage we don't know about.

There could be treasure inside that raw.

Two things Assassin's Creed Origins did that have massively improved the series:

1. Not a single tailing mission. They were never good. Even when they were made as easy as possible, they were never good.

2. Whenever you have to escort an NPC, they're immortal. They can get knocked down in a fight but they'll get back up afterwards, all covered in blood, and act like nothing happened. It owns and I'm glad I don't have to worry about keeping those tissue-paper NPCs alive.

It sucks that they somehow didn't copy that one TW3 aspect where you can press a button to travel at the same speed as your companion. Ubi added so many qol features of their own but omitted that one, why.

Yeah, that would be really helpful.

The one escort mission that managed to annoy me anyway was the one where you have to escort a crocodile back to the Temple of Sobek. The crocodile won't move unless you're close to her, but will also run off to fight enemies, and if you happen to get killed during the escort the last checkpoint was before you released her and you have to do the slow escort again. Everything else has been remarkably smooth, though.

My parents' cat has decided that she only likes to drink water straight from the faucet, so she jumps up to the bathroom counter and waits for my parents to turn on a drip for her so she can drink. It's to the point now that they leave a little towel up there for her to lie on so she can be comfortable. :3: She is a very spoiled cat.

I super enjoyed the more sombre tone it had with the pre-apocalypse stuff. The genre has been kinda oversaturated by fallout-styled irony and satire, and it was kinda :unsmith: reading and listening all the reactions different people had to the apocalypse in HZD. They felt a lot more realistic and sincere than the usual ones.

Same here. The slow crushing horror of people realizing they are living through a disaster that can’t be stopped and deciding what to do about that was really affecting for me. But the story that just destroyed me was the two women shutting down the dam. It’s all happening before the main apocalypse so you know they don’t know things are going to get worse. But for them, just the sadness of being forced apart by circumstances and shouting their defiance into the void.

Irrationally, I find myself wanting to somehow get in touch with them and let them (and Elisabet) know things are going to turn out OK but not at all in the way they expect. Their legacy did get passed on. It seems so unfair that they all die not knowing how things turn out. But that’s death for all of us. We can try (or not) to leave a legacy but we’ll never get to know how things turn out.

I clicked the downvote button and will NOT be playing the Star Wars game, which is a pretty low-risk situation for me because I don't even really like Star Wars that much. But one day, the stink of corporate greed will come for all your favorite childhood franchises, and your resolve will be tested. It is an inevitability.

At this point voting with your wallet only seems to be a victory in a symbolic sense if we're talking about taking a stand against things that will not only sell into the millions but keep making revenue for years to come beyond that singular sixty dollar purchase.

You just have to hope the in-game additional revenue system is so broken and hosed that the "Average Normal Consumer"-type of person gets tired of that poo poo and doesn't funnel any more of their funds into the system.

It would be like if in the next mainline Animal Crossing game models itself after the new mobile Pocket Camp one and bell inflation causes something like wallpaper or carpet to be three million bells instead of just three thousand.

And Tom Nook is like hey man that's just how the market works you can't stop inflation.

Edit: ^^^^^^Well that's incredibly lovely.

It’s kind of weird that gamers think of their relationship to developers as requiring any kind of social/activist movements at all. I guess it’s a consequence of the idea that games form communities so you are arguing not only for business models but the health of your tiny society.

Yep, pretty much. Hypothetically you can earn everything but it takes a huge amount of play time. And it's not even "just cosmetic" this time, like Overwatch--there are cards you can equip that increase your stats and abilities (though in a fairly minor way) that you earn the same way, and also very slowly. It's bad enough to lock everything behind a huge amount of play time and/or buying randomized loot boxes, but actually putting statistical advantages in there in a competitive game is a different level of scummy.

That said I can't make any sort of moral stand because I'm not buying Battlefront II, and I was never planning to in the first place, so nothing has changed :v:

1. Can't say I'm surprised, because ~*~gamers~*~ are irredeemably lovely as a demographic. Nothing video game-related has ever, ever been worth personal threats and harassment and all that poo poo and it never will be.

2. I'm just going to assume that guy has exactly nothing to do with the progression or microtransaction systems and is just being targeted because he says he works for EA in his profile.

Disney feels most comfortable working with a large conglomerate that has the same ethos that they have, with which they can make an all-inclusive licensing deal instead of many smaller ones, and no major outstanding competitive entanglements. They are definitely not going to give the Star Wars license to Sony

Their implementation of the loot box stuff was the deciding factor in me not getting the game, but also the gamer response (eg death threats) is why game devs don't communicate with players ever except through CMs and marketing copy.
