I just installed the new firefox because I saw a thing on Facebook. Ten minutes in it's already way faster than Chrome was.

Like, yeah, 57 was obviously way loving faster, but losing a shitload of functionality doesn't feel worth it, at least IMO. I could live without a few things like not being able to switch to a tab by mousing over it, but losing out on gestures and middle mouse button scroll is absurd.

Can you clarify how middle mouse scrolling is broken? Because I can use the middle-mouse button to get the bubble and scroll by moving the cursor up/down no problem.

poo poo runs great, like omg, and all the important add-ons are covered, GG well played. Spend most of yesterday in the about :config menu tweaking, and playing with Aris's (CTR guy) userChrome.css he made, now poo poo's to my liking.

I seriously can't believe how garbage the new start page is. Why would they cut down on the number of bookmarks you can have there while at the same time introducing a fuckload of empty space? EDIT: Found some solutions. Setting browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled to False reverts the top sites page back to how it was before. browser.newtabpage.columns and browser.newtabpage.rows lets you adjust the number of bookmarks you can have there. I just switched to Firefox because of Quantum and everything is going great, except SA runs like garbage. It's slow and laggy unlike literally every other website I've been to. Is this a normal thing for Firefox or is it some setting?

Tree Style Tab and a bit of userchrome & about:config to get rid of the original tabbar and I'm pretty happy with the new Firefox. Can anyone suggest replacements for the following addons? Download Manager Tweak - Puts the download window into a tab instead of a dropdown menu DownThemAll - Specifically the download manager aspect for when I'm downloading from slow lovely sites like Baidu. Am I going to have to pretend it's 1997 again and install GetRight? KonqueFox - Adds an "up" button to the navbar, and also buttons that clear the text from the location bar or search bar Lum fucked around with this message at 19:50 on Nov 14, 2017 |

Stylish is not malware. It was bought / partnered with a for-profit company, and it does ping their servers with the location of every single website you visit (because it loads the available styles for the site). So if you care about telemetry collection, they're doing that. OTOH if you're that about big data, why are you using a web browser at all? The rest of the internet is also tracking you, "incognito mode" does nothing, you are a number not a person. IMHO the real deal on stylish vs its forks is that Stylish is now very focused on pre-made styles, and the forks are still pretty much built for making your own stuff. So if you just want stuff like a youtube dark mode that auto-updates and don't give a poo poo that yet another company knows what porn sites you like, use Stylish. If you want to hack on CSS yourself switch.
