I think we'll be getting an exp bonus from Wednesday 15th - I'm guessing until Thanksgiving. Or at least thats my wild guess based on the current double faction ending on the 14th "to make room for more Fall Fun on November 15!" and the exp bonuses done in previous years.

Double faction bonus falling together with the release of Velious on Agnarr was the very best thing. First raid day we cleared Kael Drakkal. I did just a little more of farming in Arena and I was max CoV faction. I completed my (useless) Giantsbane wizard quest. Second raid night we did Halls of Testing, ToV West and started North. I'm pretty sure i'll be max Kromzek before the end on the raid tonight. On another note, I finally got my Broken Golem, Epic complete! It became even harder than it was because Fright 2.0 is right next to him so you have to clear lots more trash or it will also aggro.

Velious has been a loving blast. First day we raced FE on Tormax, lost, but it was super fun. We got the pull. But DCs absolutely wrecked us, we had 15+ people that weren't in raid because they DC'd. I couldn't get them all invited while tanking like 6 trash mobs that were on our healers. We checked parses, some napkin math, it was apparently SUPER close on damage. We did some splits on ST key mobs. Thursday WTOV/HOT and cleared Aary. Then yesterday did the rest of NTOV (gently caress lady nev tho). Saturday we did an FFA raid (~30ish) in WTOV/HOT and we got our warriors almost full suits of kael drops. No BPs though, but did get 2x legs. We did Gozzrem and took a run at Lendi because she popped. We got her to 33% with 3 warriors (which means we couldn't have defensive uptime 100%) and 3 main clerics w/ 2 box clerics. With 1 more warrior, we woulda got that. It's been a ton of fun.

The necro skull cap quest has been pretty fun... up until the named drolvarg in Dreadlands, and even less fun now that I'm camping Iksar Tomb Raiders. gently caress those mobs man. Whoever called the long wait time for customer service to respond to an xfer nailed it, 5 days now and no reply. This is making me want to just play on Phinny instead. Just how pointless would it be to try to play a pally on the server when you don't know anyone on it other than the two goons I think are on it? Pally 1.5/2.0 is loving ridiculous iirc and I doubt anybody would even want to group with me if I didn't have at least 1.5

Frostcrypt was another fun zone, we used to 6-man stuff in that in era for some reason, I think there were quest drops or TS drops or something, or maybe we just did it because we had Big Dicks.

There’s a room behind KT, you can pick between it with a group or two and thered a few mobs that have Yeli faction hits. I used to do that to grind faction on double xp/faction weekends.

This is pretty  so thought I'd share it. I sent a petition asking if it was against the rules to transfer accounts to buy more TLP packs, I got a response back saying it was allowed, so I spent $85 to do it (2x subs $30, TLP pack $30, Xfer station cash $25) and sent in my transfer request only to wait 6 days and have the GM ask me why I'm transferring a level 1 character and not just remaking it, so I told them why and that I'd already asked beforehand if it was allowed, then they responded it's not allowed and closed my petition and marked as Solved.So I reopened it and sent a screenshot of me having asked and been told it was allowed along with the threat that I was going to report the bait and switch fraud that'd just happened to my CC company and then they responded telling me "We can't do it for the specific reason you stated, if you give us another reason we can. Alternatively we can refund your money but all accounts will be banned". Told them to just give me my loving money back because what the gently caress. Yeah 40 slot bag + three 4 hour XP potions (choosing to buy them for claiming your free 500 SC). They were going to make a ton of money from me doing this for bags + XP potions but they had to go and out SOE SOE.

Honestly, if you just want to mess about solo and explore then I would recommend an SK or a monk. Both can get around zones with ease and can tank as well as put out damage. Your tank merc will drop off by level 80 so you'll just spend your time healing it rather than doing damage. You'll still use a tank merc till 70-80 even with SK or monk since the tank merc is broken to poo poo for levelling but after that, switch to a healer merc. But yea, I don't recommend a Druid for what you are wanting to do.

Druids were in a pretty drat good spot on live when I last played a few months ago but yeah as mentioned if you just want to fart around and crush old content for a month or so I'd do an SK or a monk.

Jumping on the SK or Monk bandwagon, personally I've played Monk for many years and loved it. They're just great for zipping through dungeons, as you can always get out of trouble with Feign Death. They rip through easy content due to fast melee. Melee and/or pet power is always best for chewing through relatively easy content, so you don't have to deal with mana, spell interruptions, meditating and all that stuff that's pretty annoying in EQ. At higher levels these issues are dimished a bit, with mana regen abilities and spells. SK is more sturdy and tanky than Monk, but has a lot lower DPS and their FD isn't as quick and good. SK can AE a bit better. Either should be fun.

I never saw the fun in chewing through lower level content. For me it's quite the opposite. I like to tackle stuff that wasn't designed to achieve solo or with one group, without outleveling the thing. For example back in the days in Velious on my Shaman I was one of the first to go solo Dragons in Western Wastes. Also doing raid content with one or two groups is what I consider fun, even if it's slow and not "time efficient".

Anyone had spells vanish from the spell book ? I had 3 vanish overnight and be left with empty spaces in the spellbook. They were not manually deleted and no-one has ever had access to the account. Guessing theres a server-side bug of some kind - oddly it wasn't the last 3 memmed.

There's just a lot of stuff you're gonna wanna do by yourself between getting a group that only certain classes can pull off well re: monk and sk Buttons aren't an issue on monk that much because you can bind most of them to the same button and spam it. Nowadays you have a lot of timed disc (only 1 disc timer can run ata time) that you rotate in between spamming poo poo. Just translate what the names of the abilities they say into what you actually have access to or downgrades of (Heroic chars are lvl 85). Then you have your combat abilities like kicks and poo poo. And your AAs abilities that are shortcooldown. Anything that does damage and on like a 30s cooldown you can add to your spam buttons basically. And you should have some 3~minute disc timers that you can rotate (they take up disc slot in the disc window when used). Something like cranestance or some poo poo Then you should have some 10m cooldown discs and some AAs that are 10/15 minute-ish for "burns"
