It's a movie critic reviewing a super hero film. What they watch and what they remember after are two completely separate things.

Yeah I figured it there was something remotely true about it there would be PR statements or at least a mention of it on a mainstream site. That whole thing was weird.

looking forward to secret anti-capitalist critique in justice league and cined's extensive breakdown, focused mostly on misunderstood scenes that were clearly explained elsewhere in the movie The critics are wrong. This movie is a classic. Only criticism: should have been grimmer

man I dunno how you could see the film where two billionaires, with the help of the military-industrial complex and law enforcement, work together to try and kill an alien other, as a secret anti-capitalist critique

So based on everything I'm reading, JL is roughly about as good as the trailers made it out to be. I'll check it out eventually but but not psyched. Plus Punisher comes out Friday so gently caress justice league for a while.

The MSJ posted:I’ve read at least one review saying The Punisher does not have much to say about its politics and suffer the same issues the other Netflix series has. Punisher doesn't require a compelling narrative. It just requires bad guys that need punishing. And that punishment should be visually interesting if the trailers are anything to go by. The issue with the current Netflix shows is that their whole season wide arc has a plot so thin that you can explain the whole thing in like 3 sentences, but they insist on having 8-12 episodes. They should be six episodes, max. I'm reminded of Walking Dead season 1, only six episodes, and awesome. Stranger Things season 1, eight episodes, dragged slightly at points. Stranger Things season 2, nine episodes, dragged near the beginning while retreading a lot of familiar territory from season 1, probably could cut at least one episode and bring it down to 8.
