Some Numbers posted:

Pretty sure you always pick Whack, because Whack and Buzz are way better than Doodle.

The fact that Whack is clearly superior to Doodle actually complicates things. Remember, only one player has access to the ability when all is said and done.

The person playing the card would prefer to have Buzz, but would (most likely) be fine with Whack.

The opponent would prefer they had Doodle, but since that's not gonna happen, they would pick it to stop the first player from getting Buzz.

...Unless both players have thought this through. In that case, the first player is more likely to pick Doodle to anticipate their opponent picking the same, thereby getting Buzz. But if the opponent also sees this line, they would want to instead pick Whack to stop that from happening. If both players see this line, then basically anything is possible and neither is more likely than the other.

...Or the first person just doesn't bother with the mind games and just picks Whack every time.

I approve of this card.

Honestly, if you're commandering it up hard enough to play with silver-bordered cards, you can just treat that as day-1 errata.

I don't think you can tap for mana while Mantis is on the stack so it'll be kinda difficult

I just won a booster box from my EDH group. Flashback to a year ago:

Me: "I bet you $20 we're going to get a spell with trample at some point."
Them: "No, that is dumb and bad and they'd have to keyword it with 'sprample' or something because reasons."
Me: "No, you're wrong."
Them: "If they ever ruin the game to the point that we have a spell with trample we'll all pitch in and buy you a booster box."
