I am stunned. I called Comcast a few weeks ago to complain about my account not being changed and still be charged for services I had canceled months prior. I was also being billed for a Cable box I had returned ages ago and had a receipt for the drop off. Well I went to pay my bill today and they fixed everything, every change was retroactively applied to the date I had made the call and all the surcharges and fees were refunded to a point that my bill is credited and I don't have to make a full payment til January. I think I may have fallen into an alternate reality where Comcast has actual customer service.

WHen Comcast brought cable internet to town I had an account with them and I set up auto pay. They then billed me for TWELVE months at once and they just offered to credit me for the year instead of giving me my goddamned money back as i had fuckin rent to pay and poo poo. I told the CSR that and it may have swayed her to helping me a bit.

I've been with Comcast here in Denver suburbs for 14 years now and it's actually been outstanding, except for two instances. 1) I moved in 2006 and they changed my account number and didn't tell me. So after 6 months at my new place, they deactivated my old account number. They kept taking the automatic payments though, so my records showed I was current, but I kept getting letters telling me I was delinquent. They just deposited my payments into a general fund instead of, you know, internally changing the account number so my payments applied correctly. The really stupid part being that they did correctly apply the payments for 6 months. It was only after the account was deleted that they lost the connection. *over 10 years of nearly perfect uninterrupted service with full speed and no issues goes by* 2) In mid 2017, I got a new neighbor and at exactly the same time my cable went out. I was busy so I didn't really need it but after 2 days I called in. They had me do all the standard tests, reboot my modem, try out the other outlets, etc. After an hour they agreed to send a tech who had an opening at 7AM the next day! And he arrived on time! He quickly figured out that the post that services the 8 units of my building only had 7 outlets. And there's a brand new cable labeled for my neigbhor's place. And a cut cable just dangling there with no label. Turns out my service has been there so long that the label fell down in to the dirt and faded away. The neighbor's installer thought it was an unused cable and used the socket. My repair guy stuck a T fitting on it and it's been fine ever since. Of course they tried to charge me for the service call.

I definitely have felt a bunch of my anger with that kind of stuff melt off. Too much going on to spend time angry with that poo poo. Sure it needs to be called to attention and changed and whatnot but I got better things to do.

Random music chat. For many years my favorite 'genre' of music has been European female-fronted metal bands, preferably without any male vocals at all. So a question I never even thought of was recently answered... What happens when you take 4 already successful female lead singers from different bands (with different styles) and put them together into a single group and have them record an album of covers of various pop artists (Depeche Mode, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Backstreet Boys, etc.)?? The answer is "Exit Eden". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8nafVgHtZ8 The soaring soprano voice is the big blonde, Amanda Somerville. Her and the little latina Marina La Torraca have the best voices by far IMO, but somehow they make the others work well in the mix. Not sure if anyone else here will like it, but I'm really digging it at the moment. Also, "Napalm Records" is the best label.

I'm probably behind on new bands too, but the bands I like seem to have a lot of longevity and all the new ones that I try seem to mix in way too much of the growling/male vocals (Amaranthe would be loving amazing if they would seal the guys mouths shut). Nightwish is what got me into the genre, and their current lead singer Floor Jansen is really good, but they went through a couple duds after losing Tarja. Within Temptation, Epica, Delain, Domina Noctis, Nemesea, Sirenia and Xandria are some good ones in the style I like.

I never expected that in the WRC service park a 6 year old niece would be loudly critical of my ability to draw unicorns. But here I am training said niece to help work on the car and I get taught to draw ponies and unicorns in return And trying not to laugh as she stamps her foot in a mock tantrum as she tells me I forgot the mane again
