And, again, I'm hella impressed with Mick Schumacher. He was starting 20th because of a crash during qualifying but he went from 20th to 11th before mechanical issues with his car. Pitted for a while but then went out and the fastest lap of the race? Mick Schumacher.

Wow, did my own little research and with Massa retiring with no Brazilian drivers seemingly to be signed to a race seat will make 2018 the first year since 1969 without a Brazilian. When Emerson showed up in 1970 he created an unending streak of Brazilians being in F1 up until Massa's retirement. Not to mention there's always been at least one power Brazilian driver in terms of Fittipaldi -> Piquet -> Senna -> ok then it just goes to Barrichello and then Massa in terms of "leading" Brazilians amongst a bunch of random shithouses like Pizzionia and Diniz.

Yeah, it's an impressive streak. I would suppose that the only way for it to pick back up soon is for Pedro Piquet to get a seat, but I don't know who it would be with. If it had been a driver named Steve Jones instead it would have gotten so little attention that his team would have forgotten to pick him up from the track

Actually if I were to buy one I'd prefer a roadster anyway so even though I despise the name and when they first came out I thought they were ugly and only bought by middle aged people with no taste, I would have a Boxster.poty posted:It’s hilarious that you’re impressed by that weak rear end performance. Macau is like a fever dream version of perfect racing. It's just loving brutal and unforgiving as hell half the lap and then with this giant freeway straight broken up with these high speed curves that you can get ballsy as gently caress on until it just bites you in the rear end. Like I love 1980s F1 because so much of it is like riding a bull, you're just in this insane tinbox with a million horsepower behind you that was designed and assembled by some Brit with terrible teeth, and how fast you go is largely down to how heavy your balls could weigh down the throttle without your rear end in a top hat taking a bite out of the seat. Macau is the closest you can get to watching that again.

Who was the largest F1 title sponsor who didn't hawk a lethal product? I mean I get that having a brand of smokes all over a car doesn't really matter when they crash and die because that's what the cigarettes would've done anyway. But like I'm sure Coca Cola didn't want to have some guy crash and burn in an F1 car shaped coke can because it'd look pretty bad.

This was supposed to happen years ago and it's the reason there's all that false horizon hoarding up just before the tunnel, down at Portier. When I stayed there earlier this year they had all manner of boats putting out the foundations for it - you could see what an amazing engineering project it was by walking through the tunnel and getting up close to the boats. What made me laugh was that at the weekend they got all the boats to gently caress off elsewhere so it didn't ruin the view.

What Monaco needs is conscription. Round up all the rich young men into a makeshift army and send them to war and ‘reclaim’ some land from France. ‘Captain Rosberg, the French are sending in their armored divisions, what are we gonna do!?’ ‘Private, did I ever tell you about ... mind games?’ Cut to wide shot of crappy Renault tanks inexplicably driving off the cliffs into the mediterranean sea like lemmings.
