All my tires are cooper, just by chance. I don't think Pirelli even makes tires in 275/65R20 E: the only 235/75R15 they make is the scorpion ATR which are JUUUUUUUUUUUNK

Theophany posted:Jfc how can all your tyres match "by chance" I mean 3 matching sets across 2 vehicles are all cooper/cooper sub-brands. They were just the cheapest newish tires i could find used. If you want a , the tires that came off my car had a 3 digit date stamp, and i did 107mph in a 5400lb car on them. Lots of tread left though. the wheels they were on also had the most hosed up unilug system but on the plus side when i decided they were no longer safe for the car, i could flip the lugs around the other way and bolt them onto my forklift. How many forklifts you see with chromies and white-walls? I just wish i kept the fake wire wheel caps.

There is zero appetite for a tire war anymore. I don't know of a single major category that has two suppliers or is thinking of transitioning to two suppliers.

Super GT. e: Le Mans sooooort of does with Dunlop and Michelin, but it's not really mentioned much (not sure about WEC as a whole). I know IMSA is switching over to Michelin from Continental to better align with with WEC and the other sports cars series. iospace fucked around with this message at 19:57 on Nov 23, 2017 |

Meanwhile the teams figured out the optimal way to race with Pirelli tires is to drive at 60% and making the race a tire management exercise.

There are whispers of a Sauber-Alfa tie up. Apparently Ericcson’s seat is no longer completely safe. In addition this likely spells the end of Wehrlein’s time in F1 for now.
