Maybe because I've been lucky, maybe our fuel is different up here, but at the end of the season I literally just put my 3.5HP B&S Classic lawnmower under my patio, regardless of how much/little fuel it has. Come spring, a few primes, 3-4 pulls, fires right up Literally for 17+ years at this point.

Huh. I imagine that if Craftsman becomes a store brand for Lowe's, Ace probably won't carry it anymore. What's the general consensus on Harbor Freight's roller cabinets? I'm outgrowing the old smallish Companion set my wife bought me an age ago.

Fuel. It's just so much nicer for things like exhaust work.

From what they've said so far the plan is for Craftsman to just be a brand like Stanley or Gear Wrench that aren't necessarily locked to a single store (although Lowe's, Home Depot, etc will still sell different stuff). Whether Lowe's decides they want to keep Kobalt because they own and have complete control over the brand or if they're just saying that to continue selling tools until the Craftsman stuff comes in remains to be seen.

They tend to expand to fill the space they occupy.

I also bought the red one and filled it up immediately so I bought the top box and now I have 4-5 empty drawers. That space will be full once I get back to garage stuff though. I also have that $100 black cart which I will be putting all my home owner type tools in to free up space in the red chest but it's currently busy being extra desk space in my basement.

I have the black cart with the flip top thing for dragging tools out of the garage that's too small to park a car in to to the driveway. I got this one for free but I would happily pay the $100 or whatever you can catch it on sale for. I put my floor jack and stands on the bottom shelf and zip tied a powerstrip to one of the legs to give a place for a phone charger/work light plug.

Not sure which black one you guys are referring to but it's probably a lot like the thing I've already got. Due to space constraints I'm looking at the 16-drawer 26" models, but I'll be damned if I can figure out the difference between this one and this one. They look like exactly the same thing to me, but they've got different SKUs.

Harbor freight has a bunch of different SKUs for most items so don't worry about that. The coupons list both http://www.hfqpdb.com/best_coupon/26%22%2C+16+DRAWER+ROLLER+CABINET

Whats the diff between regular Milwaukee M18 and M18 fuel? Can M18 batteries be used/charged with fuel products? Can fuel batteries be used/charged on regular M18 products? I'm looking at picking up a Sawzall of the regular joe scumbag M18 variety, but was perhaps, considering the Fuel version, if I don't have to buy separate batteries, chargers etc. I am aware that (most likely) Fuel tool performance wouldn't be as good with the joe scumbag 18v batteries as with the fuel batts.

The batteries are the same. The fuel line uses brushless motors for better efficiency.

FUEL tools have brushless motors - longer run times and less maintenance.

The basic Milwaukee line use brushed motors (brushes will degrade and need to be replaced,) the second one up is Milwaukee Brushless (no brushes or diminished power output to worry about) and the top of the line is FUEL. The FUEL lineup have upgraded brushless motors and a digital controller that helps with heat dissipation and power efficiency. There is a pretty big difference in power and battery life with the FUEL models, even over the regular brushless tools. The M12 and M18 batteries will work with any tool in its respective family, the only difference being the capacity (1.5Ah, 4Ah, 9Ah, etc.) Just buy a kit on sale and get bare tools as you need them. Speaking of batteries...are the major lines (Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee) staying pretty much the same for quite a while?

Colostomy Bag posted:Speaking of batteries...are the major lines (Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee) staying pretty much the same for quite a while? Do you mean are any of them going to change to a different battery system? I would highly doubt it. There's not likely a substantially better battery technology coming anytime soon, and without that there's no reason to break backward compatibility. Both Milwaukee and DeWalt offer a range of batteries in their existing lines anyway. Different capacities, higher C ratings (Milwaukee RedLithium), but nothing that's going to make a new M18 pack not work with an old tool.

DeWalt also has "20v" adapters that work with the older 18v NiCad(?) stuff.

The HF 301 set has a bunch of torx/hex as well if that's important, and I think a wider socket selection.... but the combination wrenches are absolute garbage. That husky looks like decent quality all around. There's a Kobalt 227pc set for $99 at Lowe's as well that looks similar and does come with extensions, but zero ratchet hex/torx.
