i stepped out of the office and stepped into a Kusturica movie i went to the national health insurance fund office, of course they only work between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. because god forbid somebody with regular working hours can conveniently do poo poo at a public institution, and got hit with an insanely powerful 90s flashback the moment i entered. pictured is what you see literally as you cross the front entrance threshold, i didn't hang around to take more photos but everything from the tiles to the cracking plaster, to the overstuffed folders tossed in disorganized piles was just the distilled essence of the waiting rooms of my childhood   since i was already headed that way i decided to go to the office of this regional magazine called Слово Југа and see if i can get some back-issues i'm missing from them. the impressum on their website said their offices are at 28 Станка Власотинчанина, i found the street and started following the numbers  ok, 26, so far so good  wait, 30? hmm, i think to myself as i take a couple of steps backwards  this empty lot is 28, isn't it?  yep, that's it. --- every november because of migration patterns or whatever hundreds and hundreds of crows churn in the air above Ni simultaneously and make an ungodly racket, it's the most loving S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thing ever and I love it, i anticipate these crows with glee. my phone camera is poo poo but all the dots in this photo are crows  i go to an outdoor gym between an old bus garage/repair station that reminds me of the vehicle graveyard in Garbage and a central heating plant that also simply must be location-scouted for a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. live action movie  one time these crows arrived while i was there on a stormy evening and i involuntarily tensed up before my brain caught upwe had a pretty sweet sunset that evening, i didn't quite manage to snap a photo on time but half the sky was in flames    --- i stumbled across a cool bit of trivia, the city we call Donetsk today was not the original Donetsk in the region, just north of Lugansk there's a small town called Slavyanoserbsk (that has a fairly interesting history if you like reading about that kind of thing) that changed its name several times, among them: quote:Подгорное в 1784 году переименовано в город Донецк, который был центром Донецкого уезда.
