All I know about this series is it features weird looking little animal girls. But on one of the pages I visit they were talking about how it turned into MAJOR JAPANESE DRAMA. From how I understand it, the show was poo poo at first then took off like a rocket and became MASSIVE HIT. Then the director or something made a short animation and got fired for it? And the studio tanked and cancelled season 2? Is that accurate?

I don't know the exact ins an outs of the drama, but regarding it's popularity, the first episode looks a little dodgy as a CGI series but as of the second episode it started accumulating charm and then followed up with a mystery and heart warming adventure involving memorable characters. The series had potential very early on even in the first episode, I stuck with it because there was hints in the very first episode that the series had themes it wanted to explore and a story it wanted to tell that intrigued me.
