If experience is anything to go by, Typhoon 3 clans are regularly 7-0'd by the top ten.

On the upside, I've long since abandoned the line at the Lexington and look forward to getting around 60k FXP for having endured it (if you got all the way to Midway, it's around 180k FXP  )

The Pan Asian tier 5 is nothing special, because you can't stealth torp. You just can't. The only way you can get the drop on people is by doing some kiting, or by doing max-range guesswork on targets not yet within your range. On the other hand, the tier 6 is pretty good. It is a Russian DD with Russian DD guns, which aren't special, but they can do some work. However, it has enough range to stealth torp ( 8KM ), and it is very responsive with the engine boost. It is difficult to torpedo one out of smoke unless the pattern is extremely dense, but if they spread the smoke and keep moving, good luck making an accurate guess without RPF. The torpedo reload comes quickly and I would be extremely wary pushing one in anything bigger than a DD. Otherwise, go hog wild because the tier 5 and 6 should lose against any DD except their Japanese peers.

Fushan is just Anshan with DW torpedoes for the most part. Gadjah is when the line somewhat defines itself as a big game hunter, but its uniqueness is negated by the next three ships just being USN DDs.

Lost a game in my Belfast where I was at 120k damage with Kraken, High Cal, and Confed. Came down to me with basically no HP and no smoke, Nuremberg A (full HP), and Nuremberg B (low HP) vs a single Yorck with almost no HP. We had 2 bases to thier 1 (A) and a point advantage. Things started to to wrong when the Yorck popped out and killed me, I got a volley off in return. Not so bad, the Nurembergs just need to stay alive for a bit and we win. Yorck starts heading into our B cap. Suddenly Nuremberg B, with almost no HP left opens up and of course is spotted. The Yorck kills him too, taking a bit more damage. Points are now almost equal. Meanwhile, Nuremberg A who is still at full HP fires a volley or two and runs behind an island. Yorck caps B, they start pulling ahead in points. Nuremberg A is ineffectually sailing around behind the island still, team chat is mixed between laughing at the ridiculousness of this and being mad at this idiot. Enemy pulls further ahead by points and there are only a few minuets left in the game. Nuremberg A finally decides to try to fight, but sails the long way around the island. He dawdles so long that he finally only comes into sight of the Yorck as the time limit expires and they win. The last thing we see is that the Yorck had somehow timed things exactly and had launched perfect torps which would have exploded the Nuremberg if the match had lasted another 10 seconds. Adding insult to injury, my game crashed before I could see the team scores. Unrelated to all that, this patch buffed the Colorado's HP, but I didn't see any notes about nerfing its heal, which is larger than most BBs. Did they just keep it as it was or reduce it without saying?

So you remember that I was looking for a clan to play clan wars with and that some anime weirdos invited me into theirs. Yesterday we played a few rounds together and they were kinda nice, but I guess I should have been suspicious when their leader said " Hey I hope you like anime since all of us do and the last prospect we had didn't take that so well"......and I was like: No problem, I enjoy Akira and Ghost in the Shell and giant robots and stuff..... I've been known to shed some disposable income on this poo poo so basically what premiums should I get, what's a good line to focus on from the start? (i didn't much care for artillery in tanks, so probably will pass on carriers)

They teach you a lot of skills that are transferable to other classes, and will train you out of bad habits like sailing around broadside-on in the open very quickly. I would recommend avoiding British cruisers and Russian destroyers until you know exactly what you're doing.

They released the Ashitaka and Huanghe pretty much as they were. Amazing. An A hull Amagi that's still dog poo poo even down at T7 and a completely awful cruiser with no range, no DPS, and awful surviveability. I love it.

Don't buy any premiums above your current highest tier. You'll get slaughtered and your allies will hate you.

Also super containers are amazing as pulling 50k free xp out of one will allow you to totally bypass some of the garbage ships and can also give you large quantities of 50%+ xp camos - keep in mind it's all RNG so you may never see any of these things. There is a long debate of if super containers are statistically worth it - my take on it is that they can have things you cannot get any other way so I always go for them. I've not seen an urge to own any of the premium ships as they are most useful as a means of training your captains and farming credits, with a premium account you will probably not find yourself short on money for quite some time. If you are struggling with a particular ship, do look for guides on how to play it. The Phoenix and the FuryTaco come to mind as two ships that can be played quite well but require a play style that is quite different from their predecessors.
