Eh, maggots are very clean anyways considering they eat dead flesh and clean wounds, so gloves really aren't necessary as long as you wash your hands before and after. It's more a matter of personal preference or if the dog has other parasites and infections.

Is there something about working in the *medical industry that just turns you into a wordsmith of horror? I'm not in healthcare, but my BA is in an adjacent field (psych); it's probably because you have to constantly provide coherent and informative write-ups of patients and events to communicate with your peers and coworkers. "Coherent" and "informative" are already the building blocks of good writing; having a genuinely interesting story to tell basically completes a "good writing" trifecta.
