Expect My Mom posted:cause i got no idea how to get the original visnov working Win10: I didn't even have to emulate the locale, and indeed I don't think I've even got JP character sets installed on my laptop (on which I was recently playing the game). It just worked.

Yeah, I have it sitting on my computer waiting to go whenever I build up the motivation for it, and it loads/plays the first bit perfectly fine.

installing the english patch for f/sn is pretty simple, it's just dragging and dropping some files. only problem i had is that the opening cinematics might be hosed on modern operating systems, but that might just be my pc

Getting the 2012 Realta Nua PC release of FSN (you know it's this if it's three separate installs, one for each route) to work on Win10 was weird for a little while in that it would not fullscreen properly without stretching, but at some point WIn10 updated and it just sort of started working fine without any fuss. I usually have my locale set to Japanese anyway though so I dunno how much that does or does not affect the process.

I finally got time to watch Lu over the wall and walk on girl, the night is short and I thought they were good but flawed movies, the former because of how rushed the ending was and the latter due to pacing problems in the third act I still enjoyed them both though and would recommend to anyone who's a fan of yuasa masaaki

Catching up on Vanishing Line and I am really enjoying this show now. The cast is fun and there is a lot of slick imagery. Episode 8 in particular had a couple of really cool fight scenes.

Just Because remains good, but it does seem the later episodes are more "stiff" in animation, more still shots with less detail in motion. Also Komiya is a really cool girl.

Wark Say posted:Her favorite arc in the whole show was the arc immediately after that because she likes pure, unadulterated . And what's more badass than (spoiling for those who haven't seen Re:Zero) an old retainer-guy mortally wounding a Lovecraftian/Nausicaa-inspired White Whale, getting swallowed by it and then cutting your way out of the loving whale? She said the whole thing reminded her of that one moment from the Four Devas arc in Gintama. Arc 4 comes after the anime BTW. It'll be in season 2 and is worth 2-cour. Someone from 4 chan translated the whole novel version.

Lemon-Lime posted:She's not trying to date Eita, so it's not a competition. Her win is directly affected by Eita/Komiya/Natsume and whatever happens to them. With Natsume pining over Soma, Morikawa might be more reluctant to accept his feelings (although a theme of this show seems like it could be "gently caress what other people think about it, follow your heart"), especially given what she overheard in the girl's toilet with "I hate that band girl, fighting above her league" or whatever the specific wording was. So, yeah, I'm largely ambivalent as to Komiya vs. Natsume, but definitely favor Morikawa in her match against Natsume. There's also an element of "Natsume needs someone else more than Komiya, who is largely self-sufficient, does", which is something that I'm sensitive to (Shiori should have won TWGOK ), but that's not my main reason.

Yeah, makes sense. One thing that I noticed, though, is just how often people find about things "illicitly" even though going behind or around legal/NDA's is such a pain in the rear end for most parties involved. Like sometimes even revealing that you're working in A thing can be grounds for getting into a company's shitlist or getting blacklisted altogether. Hell, for voice actors in Japan, a ton of voice actresses / some younger voice actors have this thing (don't know if it qualifies as a clause, but it might as well be) that forbids them from even mentioning that they're dating. Like, even when I use a very specific username here in the SA forums that I don't use for literally anything else, sometimes I feel the need to be extra-careful about mentioning stuff that I have worked / currently am working on that either A) Hasn't come out or B) That I'm legally not allowed to talk about period. Luckily, I had a lot of seniors helping me on this so I wouldn't gently caress up too badly.

Sorry, didn't mean to bring forth a misunderstanding. It was, as you mention, a simple observation about situations I've become acquainted while working on the industry. It's also funny that I've picked up some odd stories along these 10 years. Like almost every story I've heard about Sugita being the biggest bro (and that isn't "public knowledge" already) has been through common friends, acquaintances or people he's helped because the dude just refuses to make a big deal and that "well, it's a thing that you should do". Or how Ken Narita made the wager with Jun Fukuyama about the Code Geass spoilers Fukuyama published on 2ch. tl;dr The anime industry (and its periphery) is weird sometimes.
