west la doesn't have particularly good doner, it's pretty falafel centric. also i think you need to be drunk to properly eat a doner kebab

pho on the westside is alright, but too expensive. you end up mentally comparing it to the stuff in rosemead and get disappointed. plus i just recently went through a ramen kick, so i'm noodled out. shwarma is in the same boat as doner. the local community is all persian, not a whole lot of turks or arabs

The rest of us just keep on truck simulatoring. last i checked everywhere on earth the forces of darkness are triumphant. even the places that were supposed to be socialist paradises have had a few brown people show up and gone full Nazi and la is a metropolis nearly unrivaled in it's unending breadth. i can drive for dozens of miles in almost any direction and still be in "la". within that area there are indeed a panoply of ethnic enclaves and the delicious food that comes with them, but i only have certain enclaves within easy lunchtime distance. world class persian, japanese, indian, and south and central american food are within easy reach, but for things like korean, armenian or thai i'd have to drive for like half and hour, and the vietnamese and chinese places are an hour away. you can of course find acceptable quality ethnic food of any type in an even distribution, but why settle for that when you just end up thinking about the cheaper, higher quality, more authentic place an hour drive away
