“F**KING Acquitted. Who is surprised.”
This is the world we live in now. Drug dealer in Indiana goes to the house of a school teacher and shoots her when she answered the door. He went to the wrong house and thought he had the house of somebody that ripped him off. His friend testified against him but the Jury acquitted him of murder because there was no DNA or fingerprints left at the scene.
Freakin’ TV shows are killing prosecutor’s when it comes to making good cases. Everyone wants to see DNA evidence or some other stupid BS for every case brought before the judge now.

BREAKING: Senate Republicans are confident they have the votes to pass tax bill
It hasn't really come up in the Freep thread but following the various tax cut threads have been rather fascinating. Most Freepers are openly admitting that this is going to gently caress us over royally and they're just... okay with that. It's not like the ACA repeal where they were trying to act like losing their healthcare was some noble sacrifice to save America but here it's just sort of a grey-faced acceptance of the inevitable.

With Jerusalem Recognized as Israel's Capital, The Tribulation Clock Begins Tick, Tick, Tick
A Christian's Worldview ^ | December 6, 2007 | Chuck Ness
Dispensationalists believe in a 40-year countdown for the end of the world, and many of them thought the founding of Israel in 1948 was the trigger. But 1988 came and went and no Apocalypse so they recalculated and said that the seizure of East Jerusalem and site of the Temple in 1967 was the real trigger... and then 2007 came.
Now apparently Dispensationalists are wetting themselves over Trump's announcement, which counts as "the world" finally recognizing Israel as complete. Stand by for 2057!
EDIT: the comments are a fascinating mix of different flavors of Evangelicals calling each other heretics.

For those not reading the full FR thread (it's a pro-click), Cyrus the Great was a Persian king who freed all the Hebrew slaves in Persia and helped them rebuild their temple in Jerusalem.
The Trump parallel is particularly significant because it's one of the ways Evangelicals rationalize Trump being an irreligious adulterer: "Cyrus was a pagan but the Lord used him as a tool, so..."
I'm still blown away that these gits mocked Obama as the Liberal Messiah but then *literally* think Trump is God's champion to kick off the Apocalypse.

how is it still any kind of surprise that they accuse the LIBERALS of doing something primarily as a way of making sure it's ok when they do literally the same thing later and because they literally cannot conceive of anyone having a thought process that differs in any way from their own spiteful ignorant bullshit?

What really bugs me is just how ineffective most conservatives are at winning immigrant votes - or even trying much - when it is conservative economic policies that will benefit immigrants the most - and not incidentally most immigrants tend to have rather conservative social values too. Trump only won Florida by about 110,000 votes
A house is worth what people are willing to pay for it, if they can’t afford a mortgage because they cant deduct SALT, PMI, and ALL mortgage interest, the price of peoples homes and whatever equity they THOUGHT they had is going to CRASH and BURN.
Family's of 4 with houses that itemize are looking at increases in their taxable income anywhere in the $25-$90,000 range, that's about a $7-$25,000 tax increase or up to $2,000 extra a month to these CORRUPT LAZY PERVERTED THIEVES IN WASHINGTON DC.
One this is crystal clear.
THE GOP HAS NO DESIRE TO BE THE MAJORITY PARTY, THEY WANT TO PASS A CORPORATE TAX RATE REDUCTION, THEN IMPEACH TRUMP WHEN THEY LOSE THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE NEXT YEAR.
I will NEVER vote GOP again and actively work to destroy these degenerate MF's if Trump is STUPID enough to sign this monstrosity.
He's about to STAB HIS BASE IN THE BACK.
This is going to DESTROY the housing market and the value of people homes and play hell with population growth via the loss of personal exemptions, so it has the added effect of further reducing the number of children AMERICAN CITIZENS produce, making us a minority in our own country.
Couple this with the 15% FICA and the OUTRAGEOUS increase in medical deductibles and copays, which the GOP has done NOTHING to fix, and this slaughters the very base of Trump supporters in States like Florida.
If Trump would have ran on letting a bunch of Goldman Sachs schmucks strip away all itemized deductions from the middle class but leave them in place for corporations, he would have NEVER WON.
There is an ulterior motive here, and that is to remove the ability of the W-2 Wage Slaves to mitigate their tax exposure through deductions that have been in place for DECADES.
Good luck with the small tax decrease non itemizers will see, because it will soon be jacked up by a rate increase, which they will keep raising in order to fund Social security and their ever expanding spending.
This is the biggest bait and switch swindle in history, these guys Mnuchin and Cohn make Gruber look like an amateur.
As soon as I’m done paying for my last kid to finish college I am bugging out, the GOP will never have a majority again and this is the beginning of the end.

Yes it would be in everyone's best interest if Puerto Rico went their own way.
They have nothing in common with America. They don't share the same traditional values or work ethic. They don't share the same language or heritage. They are a Johnny-come-lately turd world accidental acquisition due to a ridiculously stupid war.
Just like with slavery, we are still paying the price with nothing in return. Puerto Rico will be a perpetual lead weight around America's ankles.

Would be nice but they are coming to Florida. I think the plan is to get them here and then fan them out to places like North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Michigan......no kidding. It is a disaster for our country and conservatives.

Bring in huge numbers of poor, oppressed South African whites and locate them all in FL.
