I think for my next play through I want to solve absolutely everything through pure unadulterated gun violence. Any mods to recommend? Thinking more along the lines of the Legion quest mods than just powerful gun mods. Edit: to clarify, thinking along the lines of killing folks for keys and info instead of doing their quests. Not sure if you actually miss much in the vanilla game by doing this. Giga Gaia fucked around with this message at 02:11 on Nov 14, 2017 |

I use legion quests expanded and that gives a few more options around the novac area.

This Autumn Leaves quest is pretty well done so far. Nice voice acting, an interesting play space, and a good fit within the lore. ...e: Excepting, of course, collectables like the book, the Lord of the Rings, and Batlin's Book of the Fellowship. ee: Lame. Finished it. Seems like they take your karma into account, which is, as I like to say, Lame As poo poo. Otherwise, it's worth going through once, and maybe not on successive playthroughs. I will say that when I went back in after getting the credit roll, Victor was waiting outside the entrance which I am Positive he isn't supposed to, so that was fun. Hi folks I've lost my mind and am going through all this modding again. e: I could probably rig something up with Steam Controller support but I'd prefer to have the controller prompts on screen and experience tells me I probably won't have access to all the functions. e2: Also does anyone have a new link for Courier's Secret Stash? Good news everyone: thanks to Steam's Controller support, I've managed to successfully integrate Project Nevada into the controller map. It relies on long presses in order to access the abilities (for instance, hold A to sprint). It also asks that you change the controller configuration in-game to lay out the abilities a bit more sensibly. I've published it to the community as well. steam://controllerconfig/22380/1202408113

SolidSnakesBandana posted:I think you want to force AA in your Nvidia Control Panel or whatever the AMD equivalent is. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken. You want to do the opposite. Disable all hardware AA. Also disable in-game AA. ENBs method should be the only one that's active. If you have AMD card then it probably just won't work, it's a crapshoot. FNV ENB doesn't like AMD.

I have followed the Fear and Loathing mod guide and ~something~ is throttling my frame rate down to 40fps. It seems to only occur in when I'm at higher ground and can see further into the distance, so I'm guessing either an LOD thing or environmental mod. Any ideas for likely culprits?

I may have asked before and forgotten about it; having mostly just used jsawyer and PerkEveryLevel, I'm interested in trying more heavy mods for FNV, though I'd prefer ones that don't screw with the actual gameplay too much and don't require messing with half a dozen seperate external wikis/guesswork to figure out how to use. I'm not very technical, so I'm kinda asking for a walkthrough getting started with it, heh. I'm still using FOMM mostly just for jsawyer, but guessing that's outdated? Graphical updates, additional NPCs and other QoL mods for a fairly modern PC to take advantage of would be nice. Nevada Skies looks nice but not sure where to start. Also, something with an eye patch, because reasons. Ghost Leviathan fucked around with this message at 09:25 on Nov 19, 2017 |

One thing to keep in mind that it sounds like you haven't run into before is that the New Vegas game engine can only take so much before it starts to break down. If you load it up with high res textures and tons more NPCs don't be surprised if you get fps drops and crashes regardless of your computer hardware. Other than that I'd recommend you get Mod Organizer and learn how to use it. It has a lot of advantages over FOMM when you get to messing around with a lot of new mods.

Okay, getting the hang of the Mod Organiser... though the load order things are still weird and scary. Especially since I'm not sure what order to put the DLCs in, it flags them as overwriting each other?
|
# ? Nov 20, 2017 08:53 |

Dont worry about that, the DLC has some overlap in files.

# ? Nov 20, 2017 08:56 |

It's pretty much totally safe to just have them in the order they were released. DM, HH, OWB, LR, and then anything like the preorder packs or whatever.
|
# ? Nov 20, 2017 09:21 |
|
I actually put the preorder packs first after FNV. That makes sense right?
|
# ? Nov 20, 2017 10:22 |

I think you're safe with that, yes. I think the preorder DLC can go before/after with no ill effect. If you sort with LOOT just go with whatever it tells you and if you don't, go with whatever works e: few other points. MO is really powerful but it's not the easiest thing in the world, you'll get the hang of it though. You'll also be happy to know there are multiple eyepatch mods available, nexus has at least three. I took a look at the guide and I get the sense that it's really okay to leave parts out once you get past the initial basically-required mod section. At least from my cursory view they try to suggest when mods are used by other mods so you know what to leave or get. like the temperature mod is used by powered power armor, so if you ignore PPA, you can ignore Ambient Temperature.

I've got a couple of mods that change clothing and I'm finding that the female version of the business suit (as worn by McCaffery and Francine Garrett) is missing the shirt, so it looks like these silly idiots are wearing a suit jacket and a tie but nothing underneath. Anyone else had that happen to them? Here's my modlist from MO: code:

That would be the Type 3 body and armor replacer; there's a download for a shirt & tie version in the optional files of the mod page.

Not what I expected to be an issue. I tried again after unequipping the gunbelt, same result. Tried dismissing companions in case that was causing it, same result but faster. Tried disabling Nevada Skies... same result. Ghost Leviathan fucked around with this message at 15:08 on Dec 16, 2017 |

Is that version 3.3 of the Lucky 38 suite expansion? If it's version 1.2 I don't think that one is compatible with the DLC. I also don't know what the BLMedical mod is, so no idea if that could be creating a conflict. Other than that I don't see what else could be causing trouble. Never use rePopulated Wasteland but I don't see what that could be changing that would cause your problem. You might also try moving jsawyer to the end of your load order just because it touches a lot of different things.

It is version 3.3 from the looks of it, and I am using the ultimate edition version of Nevada Skies. BLMedical just expands the Followers medical clinic. Stuck jsawyer down the end of the load order and it seems that did it!

Cool, glad it's fixed. Those big overhauls should usually come later in the load order because they might not work if other mods overwrite their changes.
