As much as I want to see you have the beetle, shouldn't you have a safer more practical car that can haul poo poo around other than like 2-3 bags of groceries.

Just big enough for the spare pulley and belt, spare tire. 11/13/14/17 mm wrenches. The beetle frunk probably bit bigger than the Ghia frunk but even with the rear seat delete in my Ghia it held it's spare parts and that's about it.

The beetle is a great car and you should buy it when you can park it in a garage and drive something else in winter. Snow and salt eat those alive.

I think my first exposure to the metric system was in the film Romancing the Stone, when Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner are camping in a crashed airplane in the jungle and he says he's gonna "throw another kilo on the fire" that probably wasn't really my first exposure to the metric system, but it's the one I remember now I think about it, it might have been the KPH they put on all the speedometers in the 1980s

I think I speak for all Americans when I say in school when they started talking about meters I though gently caress this commie poo poo, I will never keep track of a 13 mm wrench or socket.

I was in southwest Ontario last week, and the farm country is filled with old RVs I found one for 14 inch: It's a Datsun-based RV. Probably a mouse condo. Five speed stick. And you can live in it!

My neighbor is selling a really nice-looking Winnebago that's big but not as massive as some you see, but it's probably past the budget :/

Adiabatic posted:I mean Dave's gone a long way already here and this ain't Automotive Sanity. Yeah I don't see the problem with getting his father's Beetle, it looks very well put together and he knows the car, you can't get much better than that. It's also cool as hell. And if the frunk fills up too fast, that's what roof racks are for. Dave can probably fit everything he owns in/on it and more.
