Yeah, Ford made no secret of the fact that they’d only sell you own if you signed a contract promising not to resell it.

They are both wealthy, no-harm-come-to-them entities that exist where they do not have any real consequences. Heck I bet FoMoCo is responsible for more broken contracts than wrestler man is. Far more deaths too. Siding with either is goofy as all heck and neither one will be harmed or learn any lesson. Technically yeah contracts whatever but that doesn't make it right. I don't have any allegiance to either party so it's just silly.

If they really wanted to control flipping they should have done what Ferrari does. IIRC they actually lease their high end cars so if the person tries to sell it early or whatever they can just retake ownership of it at the end of the lease.

fknlo posted:I'm actually somewhat interested in the precedent of not being able to sell something that you own. It isn't even limited to high value exotica. It's not unheard of for dealers near the Canada/US border will make you sign an agreement promising not to resell whenever there's a significant enough difference (due to exchange rates or other factors) between the Canadian and US price for a vehicle to incentivize cross border shopping. They just won't sell you the vehicle if you don't agree to the terms.

Ford can't stop you from selling the car, but they can certainly sue you for breach of contract if you signed something saying you wouldn't, which is exactly what's happening here. The legal question I guess would just be whether the contract is determined to be valid.

Does Cena even fit inside that car? I know Mr The Rock drives pick ips and 4x4s because he can't get inside 99% of sports cars.

I hate how since the Outback is the most popular wagon here manufactures feel the need to put matte plastic fender liners on all their wagons to make them palatable to American tastes. Make cool fast sports wagons instead! You’ll sell literally dozens of them!

M-B at least keeps the E-class wagon in the US because E-class wagon buyers are by far the most affluent M-B customers and frequently buy other poo poo too.

It's not that difficult but VAG screwed it up anyways.
