Reptiles are animals too. Murder cats, though... Just killing for the fun of it. No wonder they don't go after rats, they're loving nasty animals and don't hesitate to attack a cat.

I used to have two cats and I would get PISSED when they killed lizards but what are you gonna do, I tried my best to save them if I could. The worst was one time I had an infestation of Grackles in a giant Yucca tree in my back yard, and they effectively wiped out the entire lizard population in my back yard. They were also loud and loving annoying. When they came back the next year I removed all their nests whenever they tried building one and they eventually left, and the lizards slowly came back. We also had a bad cold snap once that killed them all off, but they eventually came back. Anoles are pretty drat resilient.

Just watch out for the "slightly less abjectly poor" taxes, like revolving high-interest credit card debt, because that's the next level up from where you've been the last couple years.

They pile on so many admin fees, penalties and interest charges if you don't have cash on hand at the court you get hosed. And the longer you go trying to pay it back the more it piles up. There was an issue in some city, where people ended up having to spend time in jail for 30 or 45 days because they were too poor to pay for administrative or minor moving violations. Basically debtors prison. I think the state had to step in to stop that.
