The best motorsports shoes I had were some $16 discount rack pumas that I ground down the heels on my dad's grinder and in retrospect I wish I had bought all the ones available in my size.

I wear adidas gazelles for track days. They're fine. They also double as lifting shoes.

Has anyone in here actually used driving specific shoes for track days and racing and whatnot? I feel like they're probably overpriced but I do wonder if there is an advantage for heel toe shifts and things like that.

The old Pilotis before they went bankrupt and got repositioned as a luxury brand for people driving 911s were legit awesome when I was driving the Scirocco and probably have the best feedback for what the brakes were doing through the sole. I really wish I didn't trash mine.

I got some OMPs right now cause they were on clearance on Demon Tweaks, they're alright I guess? I would still go for the clearance thin sole Pumas if I was given the choice though.

I have a bunch of Puma drift cats and the original Adidas Goodyear shoes. They were great for driving since they were so thin and the sensitivity of the pedals came through perfectly. Pretty uncomfortable to walk in for long periods of time though.

There's been precisely zero shoes I've had be good for driving and walking around in, it's either one or the other.

Puma Speedcats or driftcats or we, but my current pair look like poo poo because I never bothered looking after the suede. Might get a second pair of something different at some point tho.

The pumas are completely poo poo at anything else but driving anyway so I just only use em for trackdays now definitely wouldn't use em at the gym.
