I want the cold to come and stay so I can feel a chill in the house and yell at my family to just put on more clothes, dammit I was like this when I lived in Illinois. Summer our ac set to 68 and winter heat was set to 69/70 and it felt fine. Fast forward 2 years and we keep our ac in the summer at 78 and no heat in winter where my house is currently at 74 and I'm freezing. Weird poo poo.

I grew up in my Dad's basement, and he kept the upstairs at like 64-65 year round. I'm just permanently used to the cold. I loved that part of Wisconsin, because there was always a slight chill and there was always an excuse to wear a hoodie.

Even when I lived in New York, I slept with the heat off. In summer I just rain sweat at all times.

While discussing this with a customer from Alabama, I mentioned I keep the temp set to 64 in the winter. I do that because I like the cold, but they think I do it because I'm cheap and made fun of me.

I'm the only one who goes down there and I'm basically comfortable at that so I can't wait until we get some sub-20 temperatures at night.

If you're 17 and take a video of yourself masturbating and distribute it in any way you could go to jail and be a registered sex offender forever. I don't think 17 year olds should do that, but I also don't think they should be punished for the rest their life if they do. From what I've read, the sex offender list has done nothing to stop sex offenses. It's more or less used as a way for police departments to get more federal funding provided they maintain the RSO list in their county. If anything it might make it worse because it ostracizes abusers from society. It's creepy to think the best way to "treat" them is to reintegrate them back into society, but that more or less works, just like someone accused of any other crime.

Places where people feel "cold" in the 50s and 60s is in large part due to humidity. It works both ways to make hot hotter and cold colder.

It also results in housing crises. At one point in Miami there was a shanty town under the Julia Tuttle bridge because it was the only place in greater Miami where a sex offender could legally reside. Its such a permanent thing too, there needs to be an overhaul of legislation to reflect changes in technology.

It would be funny if Democrats just took those exact pages out of the bill and used them to pass a corporate tax "reform" in a few years.

The Medicare sequester cut has already dealt a severe blow to community cancer care, and doubling and extending it will be catastrophic. This budget gimmick will further reduce access to cancer care for Medicare patients, particularly in rural communities, limit provider choice, and have the unintended consequence of actually increasing the federal deficit. https://www.communityoncology.org/blog/2017/11/16/november-16-medicare-sequester-budget-gimmicks-threaten-community-cancer-care/
