It's nice how they don't float, but not nice mistakenly chewing on them. They're annoying to clean (dishwasher did nothing for the interior) and mine most definitely had a distinctive taste. Did you know you can go into a macdonalds and take as many individually wrapped straws as you want for free.

So, there are various grades of "stainless," and they're most likely making these out of the same "stainless" that the $8 set of 4 places silverware sets at walmart are made out of. You know, the ones with the plastic handles like a knife: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mainstays-Multi-Colored-48-Piece-Flatware-Set/24335921 These motherfuckers. When I bought this exact set in 2006, before the "mainstays" label but the exact same loving ones, they were advertised as "stainless." Technically they were, unless you let them touch anything other than pure loving deionized water. Leave them in some spaghetti sauce? Rust. Bowl of ramen sauce for half a day? Permanent black lines. Don't buy things you drink through from Aliexpress, at least not yet. Same poo poo with makup. Thousands gamble and win, but there's always that one person that gets super cancer.
