I think that MBAs are useful, in case you are looking for an answer to the question of "Is lightpole a total fucking idiot".
You are supposed to operate under the assumption there are 4 types of people:

Smart, motivated
Smart, lazy
Dumb, motivated
Dumb, lazy

You need the smart and motivated guys to get after complex poo poo and do most of the work

Smart and lazy will improve process so they don't have to work

Dumb and lazy you can sideline somewhere

Dumb and motivated are dangerous motherfuckers since they go out of their way to break poo poo.

Edit: I just operate under the assumption that someone is trying to kill me at all times. It's saved my life more than once.

Dumb and motivated also seem to take great pleasure in loving something up that will cause the other groups extra work.

I had a toolpusher on a rig break a 6' torque wrench once, something that I refused to lend to him until I was over ruled, and he brought it back as pleased as punch that he had managed to tighten a bolt up enough that he sheared the workings inside.

When I asked him did he not set it to the correct torque first he said yes, but that he didn't think it was tight enough so gave it another turn.

How I never beat the oval office to death with the broken tool I still to this day don't know.

The foreman in my fab shop would just deduct poo poo like that from the toolpushers check. It was an effective deterrent when giving instructions.

Funniest poo poo I ever saw as a really dumb welders helper running an angle grinder right into the welders oxy/acetylene dual line. Fortunately the tanks were closed and the line wasn't at pressure. The welder earned a timeout for the assbeating he gave the helper but otherwise we all thought it was justified.

It will.

This is a speculative bubble and it will pop sooner than later. If you buy in at 5k you're just grabbing your chunk of the bag as it crashes. Since steam stopped accepting bitcoin there is basically no use for any crypto anymore outside of drugs/kiddie porn/ransomware. Hell even ransomware is moving away from bitcoin because of the volatility and difficulty of getting marks to actually buy it.

Right now there is nothing backing the price and the amount of actually hard cash in the system is a fraction of the "value" of bitcoin. One whale could crash the price under 10k with a single sell order.

And now for something completely different
Washington (CNN)Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota is resigning following allegations that he touched women inappropriately, sources told CNN Thursday. The push for Franken's resignation started after a woman came forward last month to say he had badgered her into an unwanted kiss before he was a senator and groped her while she slept.

The YOSPOS thread covers the bitcoin bubble in pretty good detail. There is also the major issue where one of the larger exchanges, Bitfinex, apparently owns another company called Tether through a series of shell companies in the usual shady corporate jurisdictions. Tether issues tokens which are supposed to be backed 1:1 by USD. Tether has also carefully avoided any audit and buried a line in their Terms and Conditions explaining that tokens have no monetary value. Bitfinex lost access to banking services because of anti money laundering laws. So rather than allow users to make USD withdrawals Bitfinex pays out using tethers which are supposed to be just as good. Nevermind that no one has successfully redeemed a tether for cold hard cash. Tether has issued close to a billion dollars of tokens which they claim is backed by USD reserves no one has ever seen.

In short, an exchange is secretly printing hundreds of millions of virtual dollars to pay out withdrawals which is contributing to the rapid rise of this bubble.

Did he break it with the tongs or something? I use 48" steel pipe wrenches to break rods (only 3" tool joints) and crossover threads and we need a backhoe/excavators to get enough force to even break the connection. 6' aluminum wrenches maybe?
