Christ, I'd forgotten the terrible sex scenes the hypnosex in the AC books. And the way everybody practically slobbers/cowers in fwar over what a badass the Envoys are the moment they meet one. It's really amazing the first book ended up being a genuinely good noir cyberpunk.

does The Expanse have any noir or procedural storylines? also enjoyed Ghost in the Shell movies and SAC, Looper, Snowpiercer, Edge of Tomorrow, Ex Machina, Blade Runner 2049, etc. Out of the loop on non-hollywood movies and non-exported anime

I cannot judge movies 6+ hours into a flight - on a previous intercontinental flight I watched the Independence Day sequel and thought “Huh that was mediocre not terrible” the trick is to have enough alcohol or benzodiazepines/whatever to doze off during the boring/inane parts of a film

in 2005 maybe? i had the best flight from copenhagen to paris im told a friend walked my blackout drunk rear end into checkin, regardless i woke up at de gaulle and was pretty amazed. then i flew paris to sf hung over as gently caress which was pretty bad tbh
