Unfortunately, I don't have any of these on me, but a professor friend of mine was a socialist from way back, and had a few things from the 1950s-60s communist bookstore. The one I remember is one that had a very well done illustration on every right page (like those classics for children adaptations, don't know if anybody remembers those) and it was about a Chinese peasant heroine and her fight for communism and it's cruel, evil opponents. She was as fearless as Major Kusanagi from the Ghost in the Shell anime series, except she was murdering landlords

Comic books and illustrated novellas were very popular in Maoist China, because they made it easier for semiliterate peasants to understand.
