You're absolutely right. They should be making consistent kid deposits to bring down their DCA (Daily Child Average). Eventually they'll have enough kids spread over enough time that even if one or two become serial killers/bitcoin miners the average of the rest of them will be a net gain to the family.

This past election is proof of this, left-leaning Democrats did far better against Republicans than they did in primaries against established Democrats.

Yes, for the next election they should tell the DNC to gently caress off and primary their candidates. Do not let those corrupt establishment corporate shits have a say in it at all. Bring some real leftist alternatives to US politics.

I don't really know who the DNC are but a quick Wikipedia search indicates that the two guys in charge of it seem to be guys called Tom Perez and Keith Ellison. Are they not very good?

(I mean, it's no skin off my nose because I'm not American and I'm not especially left-wing but I am interested in trivia like this.)

One local city council near me almost swept the election with left-dem and outright socialist candidates, so that was nice.

Democratic National Committee, but this really is a discussion for D&D. However, with Trump as president, and being often referenced in this thread, I feel like there is some license to spill political juice over here.

I see. So are Tom Perez and Keith Ellison just not any good at being in charge of it?

They were only just installed last year after the previous person stepped down, I don't know if they've done enough yet to know.

The nominal leadership is not important. They work for corporate money, for donations, and promises of fat consultant jobs after their run in politics is done. The GOP and the DNC, the 2 political parties in America, both work for the rich, and are paid by them to enact policies for the rich. The flavour may change slightly between the 2, and one may like gays more, but make no mistake: they are not on your side unless you are in the 1%.

This is proved by, for example, all the ways they made sure Bernie lost the primary even tho he polled way better against Trump than Hillary.

Obama's sensible, middle of the road policies for the rich are a far cry from whatever the gently caress Trump's trying to do.

The American system seems very confusing to me. It seems like there's loads of different sources of leadership. It would make much better sense if you just got everyone who's a member of the party who don't have the presidency to vote for one person to be the leader of the opposition like in a parliamentary system.

Well you see, in US politics, only the leaders of the Democratic Party are capable of taking any action that will have an effect. The Republican party exists, of course, but nothing they do makes any difference in the country. So when things don't go the way someone likes, it's the leadership of the Democratic Party who are to blame and vilify.

Battlefront 2, after all the horrible press about the garbage monetization and lootbox-grind in the game, sold 882,000 copies in the first month.

http://fortune.com/2017/12/08/star-wars-battlefront-ii-sales/

Call of Duty: World War 2 sold something like 4.4 million copies around that same time. EA really hosed the chicken on this one.

All the republican party members have to do to retain their positions is to vote no on anything and everything. As long as they maintain the status quo and make sure no lives are improved then their yokel base will vote for them forever.

882,000 still sold, that is not a small number. Gamers really do deserve game companies.

it's a small enough number that they are definitely losing money, and i'd bet it's mostly people who somehow missed out on the internet drama because they just buy their games based on the box-art.

It actually is. Keep in mind this is a AAA game based on the world’s biggest franchise. It’s like if Thor: Ragnarok had only made 200 million dollars. Like yeah that sounds like a big number, but the budget on that movie was 180 mil.

I dunno how much the budget was for Battlefront 2, but between the microtransactions beng taken out completely and the low sales figures it probably made a fraction of what they wanted it to make. Then again, judging by the way they made the game they probably wanted to make infinity trillion dollars off of it, so maybe that’s not saying much.

It's a mess of a game that takes no risks and banks on nostalgia.

They had a blank slate for new lore and poo poo the bed by having Skywalker, Solo, and Leia bullshitting around stretched out multiplayer maps.

The last one was decent but shipped horribly incomplete thanks to so much content being locked behind the season pass.

The last Battlefront as such a scam and waste of potential. Might get some people with power to look at loot boxes though! (and summarily dismiss the idea that they should do something about it)
