Likewise, I still want one showing libertarians actually working their way up from nothing. Like, dump Paul Ryan or one of the Trump kids on the streets of Detroit with nothing but $50 cash, a duffel full of clothes, and some fake IDs so they can't just trade on their name. See how long it takes them to reach the heights of middle-class when their savings keep getting eaten by car problems, health problems, broken appliances, and every other calamity known to the precariat. Alternatively, have them demonstrate how luxurious the welfare life really is, either with that 25-step "just commit 5 different frauds and sign up for literally every program" plan, or something more realistic and less lucrative. E: poo poo, forgot a picture. The economy is on the right track, but key indicators show we’re not at full employment yet darthbob88 fucked around with this message at 20:24 on Dec 11, 2017 |

Some years back, there was some college republican type who tried something like this: he went to live in the city for about a month with no money intent on showing how easy it was to drag yourself out of poverty. He was doing alright with the experiment until his mother came down with an illness, at which point he called the whole thing off. And finally, we had definitive proof of how easy it is to climb the ladder, as long as you're a healthy young white guy with no debt and the ability to bail if things get too tough. Detroit is bad because of the Dem government and all the taxes and government regulations. They'd make it on their own if they were dumped somewhere with no government or community structure at all. (post a picture)

The fact that current American government still exists is probably the most damning indictment of liberalism. Almost one year ago more than half a million people from all 50 states and the territories marched on Washington and instead of simply marching into Congress/SCOTUS/the White House and kicking the current government out, they just "protested" for a return to the status quo and all that energy was essentially wasted.
