It’s plausible that politicians are more prone to getting hacked on account of them mostly being very old and very stupid

It's almost like a consumer capitalist economy requires people to actually have spare money to spend on things.

NBNCo just sent me a lovely survey to fill out, asking about my experiences in the first 3 months of being a new NBN customer... I told them. I basically typed an essay and threw it into the pit, from which it will never escape and will make no difference. Made me feel a little better though.

A Metropolitan Fire Brigade alarm system audit of about 25 significant buildings in the city has found about half of buildings checked were not connected to the brigade.

Sources close to the fire service say it is suspected rogue building operators are routinely unlinking fire alarms in an attempt to avoid call-out fees…

Sources say the practice of disabling alarms has increased in recent years…

But there's always been a portion of society that wants the "Bendigo/Castlemaine Lifestyle" and who are prepared to pay for the commute.
Similar deal with the Gong/Newcastle if I've heard right.

I've heard this more with Central Coast NSW than Newcastle but it wouldn't surprise me if people were commuting that far.

It's not a requirement that fire systems connect to the brigade (at least in QLD).

I knew dozens of people who worked in Brisbane CBD and would commute in every day from the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. I used to commute from Redcliffe and honestly, that in itself was bullshit enough. I couldn't imagine a two hour commute each way, it'd just be insane.
