Sexy Brutale is pretty good if anyone hasn't played it. I guess it's kind of a Ghost Trick-y thing where you have to sneak around preventing murders in a mansion with time travel (it's also got a cool art style that reminded me of Wonderful 101)

Pinball Arcade is a lot of fun but every version has its own idiotic problems that Farsight takes ages to fix, if they ever do. The lighting has been screwed up on the PS4 version since early this year and a patch is still "coming soon."

They're not the same, they feature different tables. Stern Arcade is largely modern machines, Pinball Arcade is largely classics. Stern Arcade has very few tables, Pinball Arcade has tons.

That's really confusing, because the logos are really similar and Pinball Arcade has some Stern tables.

edit: gently caress I ain't a pinball historian, I just like to hit that steel bearing into things. I guess Stern owns the licenses for Data East and some other defunct companies, too.

Oh drat I didn't realize, I still haven't played it outside of vertical mode. Which, by the way, also works docked.

Crosspost from the Switch thread, can anyone get single joycon vert play to work in FX3? So far my efforts have been fruitless, and in its settings there are only pages for double joycons and touchscreen controls.

Just this one report out of the Switch thread so far:

Autonomous Monster posted:

I lasted exactly seventeen seconds before dropping money on Tiny Metal. Trip report:

  • The opening cutscene dropped frames
  • There is a Skirmish option on the menu, so hotseat MP might be possible.
  • Campaign intro is really drat wordy
  • UI is clearly designed for TV mode and TV mode alone. The text is tiny in portable mode. Not unreadable, but it's small enough to be an issue.
  • Gameplay: is Advance Wars :toot:

More notes once I'm out of the mandatory tutorial.

If you have access to the account, you should be able to visit the below URLs, login and purchase them.

Bravely Default would be perfect for the Switch. Even if it means losing the 3D landscapes, the artwork in the game would hugely benefit from the higher resolution.

I honestly found BD2 to be a funnier and more engaging plot and premise. It's sort of bonkers, though, and I have no idea who the intended audience for the relentless amount of "Ba'al busting" jokes they make.

Well, besides me, I guess. I laughed a fair amount at the cutscenes, though the game still has this problem of shifting tone dramatically back and forth a lot. Bravely Default games have always lacked a bit for their own sense of identity, strong art direction notwithstanding, and that's still a problem in BD2 as well, but I think it presents itself and its world a bit better than its predecessor.
