This is going to be spun as an example of the high moral character of red state voters for decades. “You Democrats will vote for any sleaze! Remember when Alabama voted Doug Jones? At least Republicans have scruples!”

pubic works project posted:So my wife and I are going out to Vegas next month for a weekend. I've never been. What's a good place to stay on the Strip? I was looking at the Bellagio. Any tips for first-timers? My girlfriend and I go to Vegas a lot. I'll provide some input: - most hotels on the strip are spendy if you aren't in their players clubs. That said, Paris, Bally's, and Excalibur are cheaper. Excal is barely off the strip, so it will be a bit of walking. When we stay, we stay at Palace Station off the strip because we get free rooms. - if you plan on gambling a lot, get a players card. They're free and you can get good poo poo. My girlfriend gets free rooms, and they gave us a free cruise as well. - casinos on the strip tend to have worse odds to win, especially slots. Be careful. Don't expect to win obviously, but doubly expect that if you gamble at somewhere like Bellagio. - food on the strip is spendy. Food off the strip is actually cheap, and pretty good. Their Chinatown isn't too bad. - if you want to see a show, there's a bunch of places around the strip that sell tickets same day for a discount, similar to if you've bought tickets in Times Square. Only tickets to the high demand shows (the Beatles' cirque show Love is one) won't be sold. - see if the Golden Knights are playing. You can usually get tickets cheap before the game. - Visit old downtown by Binion's / Golden Nugget once. They have cool video shows, ziplining, live music, and a ton of cool chain restaurants that aren't always available elsewhere (this was the first time I tried White Castle) - buy your wife tickets to Chippendales / Thunder Down Under and while she's there, visit a classy strip club I'm going for New Year's and it'll be my 4th time going in the last year and a half. I love Vegas.

Trump is that little kid who got attention for saying, "gently caress!" once and keeps walking around saying it for the attention. If cursing doesn't get his attention, he throws a tantrum. Didn't he outright say he just kept saying, "drain the swamp!" solely because it received cheers?

It was probably going to be the new slogan for his news opinion show or whatever. Like seriously it was never mentioned until November third.

I really wish I could get a glimpse into the time line where Trump lost and used the loss to launch a news network like everyone was suspecting. There's a good chance it would be shittier than the one we are in but I really want to see how that would've panned out. Maybe if he loses in 2020 we'll still get it!

LeBron is bigger, stronger, and faster than Michael. He's more durable than Michael and didn't have to take time off twice in his career. He also never had the coach or team that Michael had. He's a better basketball player. But no one will ever touch the stardom that Michael had and continues to have. It's not even close

Jordan only took time off in his career because he had been caught gambling and was effectively forced to do so. He would have schooled James in his prime.

If Babe Ruth tried to play baseball today, he wouldn't make a single MLB team. It doesn't make sense to compare players across different eras of the game and try to claim one is better than the other. You can look at their records but those records are made in different contexts. They're not totally comparable. There is also no actual point to deciding who was or is the GOAT. I think it's better to just appreciate players for who and what they were and are, as players and as people. We don't have to be so obsessed about one specific player being THE BEST. Manute Bol was the GOAT

Trump would use his bully pulpit to foment racial and political discord in a way that would make his presidency look tame. I doubt he’d run in 2024 just due to health reasons. I don’t want to say it would be worse, because trump has been pretty horrific. Just different bad.

Okay two things, dudes: 1) I used "Trust the Process" unironically in a work email 2) Lebron would not lose to MJ at all. He has perfect recall and routinely uses it to school active players. Dude can bring up plays and moves from years before with perfect accuracy. There is no goddamn way MJ beats him.

Would you get the alt-right/establishment split that's beginning to form among politicians, but forming among cable news hosts/viewers instead?
