Just came to post the same. F yeah, the veteran/fatality druze are now its! Anaconda too - might be a rubbish tag but I've got a soft spot for it. Nice range of cheap dudes, plus a ML drone in a 5 man druze link? Holy cow. BS 15 marksman lvl 2 burst 2 aros.. E: OK, so an hmg anaconda for 64 points? Now we're talking. Some interesting stuff in there, to be sure! 0 SWC panzerfausts to fill out Druze links, mimetism snipers, MSV character, excellent mix of weapons and specialist options. Some good special profiles on these new 'brawlers' as well.

Hi, I'm new to this game and already spent a bunch of money on Ice Storm and Red Veil, but then someone showed me that Avatar and now I want to play the army that gets that one. Is there an army list somewhere of stuff that's reasonably friendly for a new player to pick up and play?

This is by far the most common sort of question for new players coming into infinity, but it’s not really necessary. Play through the series of practice games which come in the starter sets, that will pretty much set you up for full size games. Then, read the rules for each new model you buy, if they are complex, like holoprojector models, play out a small game using it. There won’t be one ‘simple army’ and one ‘advanced army’. The faction with the Avatar is Combined Army (the general faction, neither of the current sectorial armies gets it). The only really necessary piece of collection-building advice, is you need some of the cheaper models (points-wise) to bulk out a playable force. So Morat Vanguard or Daturazi models, unidron batroids, imetron and ikadron models. Especially if you end up playing an Avatar, the most expensive model in the game, he needs some mooks to back him up! Go and play some games, this will make stats and the order activation mechanics a lot clearer. Once you’re playing full size games, that’s the time to start thinking about theory of building good lists, IMO.

I can only assume this resculpt took priority because one of the artists really liked Suicide Squad. Perhaps due to head trauma? Anyway, the old sculpts were better. I got to play Aristeia last night for the first time. It was pretty cool, even if it took a while to get into the rhythm of things. Gata seems grossly overpowered for playing the Assault mission, since she can cover the entire board in one move, if you hit the obstacles right. I'm wondering if we hosed up something related to status effects, though. It seems like they increment down really quickly, to the point where you get maybe one turn worth of usefulness out of a debuff. It makes Hexer seem like a bad draft choice, if nothing else.

States rotate at the end of a characters activation, so tend to be better played out of activation of that character for maximum effect, so using Parvati's switch as an example: Activate her Switch in her activation, it'll degrade to +1 at end of her activation, so she gets +1 on her next activation. Activate her Switch outside of her activation, she will get the +2 on her next activation, then +1 on the following (unless you use her switch again to reset it).
