Enough sideburns to last a lifetime.
Goon MVP: Spider. Seriously, that was some brilliant ending to this mission.

OP4 MVP - Hunchback IIC. As stated earlier, it's a Hunchback that managed to run out of ammunition when it rose to Clanhalla. That's beautiful and vicious and Battletech as gently caress.

Gonna have to give the Player MVP vote to Korean Robert. He was a rock solid foundation throughout the whole mission, and I appreciate that a lot. Gonna give the OpFor MVP vote to the Hunchback IIC. He might have lost in the contest between him and the Khan, but he made the bigger statement on his way off this mortal coil.

I suspect that's going to be tricky given that those gangsters, peasants and foreigners are likely going to have an honor guard of newly absorbed former Clanners escorting them everywhere.

Best bet is propaganda, not to conceal who made this happen, but to share credit for their victory and claim that it was the rectitude and honor of leaders like Isoroku Kurita (and, begrudgingly, Hans Davion) that enabled this moment to occur, even as it was that shot from Korean Robert that set up Noriko's Spider-punch.

Speaking of which:

My gut says that Hanse is going to try and play this up as a way to further integrate the former Combine's population into the DracSuns, and it'll end up backfiring and biting him in the rear end as a bunch of hardliner Kuritans join up with some irritated "why did we surrender" Hell's Horses and try to set up a breakaway nation akin to the canon Ghost Bears and canon Rasalhague.

Who knows, though? PTN might have something even more fun planned - and a lot will doubtless hinge on how the next few story votes go.

BANDERSNATCH

Goon MVP has gotta be Spider. I called out that the Khan might duck into the alley and W.T. Fits took up the challenge and body-blocked like a loving hero. They knew their 'Mech wasn't walking away from that one, and faced death in the face. That adage from the Demon Hawks campaign, "When dad goes, you go with dad"? That was the Spider this turn

OpFor MVP is no doubt, hands down the Hunchback IIC. Did everything right, tore the poo poo out of our 'Mechs, wore a loving building as a suit of armor. Seidman had murderous weapons, but he had meatshields to soak up fire. Hunchie only had his balls, and made Goonforce pay for it

The Spider Superman Punched the Kraken while landing from its jump. Best way to describe it.

That too.

Agree with nuker above - it's one thing to get lucky on rolls, it's another to put a light Mech deliberately in the line of fire to keep a much bigger Mech contained. And take note, the same thing was done against the Timber Wolf earlier! Goon MVP goes to the Spider.

Opfor MVP is the Hunchback IIC, for being metal as gently caress.

Great job, Goonsquad. Happy to have played this mission with you.

I can't split them.

Koraen Robert and the Spider for Goon MVP. A light mech punched out a Khan, because of yet another headshot by Korean Robert.

Grier Siedman and the Hunchback IIC for Clan MVP. For demonstrating how to be absolutely murderous when massively outnumbered.

Goon MVP: Robert (Hedningen), consistently getting the damage out there through the mission, Spider did a good job for the final blow and punching above it's weight but Robert felt more impactful overall.

Opfor MVP: Hunchback, a masterclass on how that 'mech can be played.

When I looked at the mech roster at the start of this match I thought, "the spider looks like a fun mech to pilot. All mobility and tiny weapons, perfect for distractions and exploiting weak sides."
Then it was used to body block and punch-out.

Two. 0.8 for each round it lived in combat, 4 kills to 5 rounds of combat. (I was expecting one more round, but it lost it's bodyguard advantage in a critical round leading to one more CT and HD shot.)
If it hadn't been for the bodyguards slipping up resulting in a headshot and the one round where Goonforce pulled back it would like have been 5 rounds, with a small chance of 6 (given more fire in round 4&5) plus unknown kills, maybe minus the Spider kill, so averaging it to 5 and 4 kills seems about par with that machine, Grier's awesome gunnery and piloting, his enemies having been worn down already and the flow of battle.

The Hunchback overperformed greatly, Grier did his job, Wolf Spider got wasted.

I'm sure the Khan is glad to have died to a mighty and incredible deed of courage, at least.

I know Clanners don't like physical combat much, but the sheer bravery it takes for a light to body-block an assault, let alone land the telling blow, has got to get the move some points in their eyes.
