I wish they'd rejigger Part 7 to at least have a bonus to Stalk, since that guy was creeping up on everyone in the movie in spite of being a waterlogged pile of goo

Part 7 would be viable if any of the maps had around 50 percent deep water. Like a map with a lot of islands with maybe one centralized landmass. That would make his insane water speed useful for more that just stopping the boat. It could become a legit traveling option to save on shift or morph.

I heard somewhere that each window kill counts towards the PHD achievement. As in: Throwing someone out a closed window/open window/smashed window and the same throwing some IN all those variants AS WELL AS UPSTAIRS WINDOWS too. Is there any truth to that? Because that's bonkers and untrackable.

A subtle aspect of part 7 is that his door-hacking animation is pretty fast since he has a 1-handed weapon. It's sort of like half of a Destruction trait.

I just had a thought, like how gamebreaking would it be to allow Jason to Shift through open windows? Only open ones, so counselors who open every window would just be opening up more Shift holes. It'd fit in fine with the slasher motif, and it'd be another good way to freak players out with Stalk by Stalk-Shifting into open windows and then popping up in another room inside a totally locked cabin.

I always thought there should be environmental kills for the unopenable windows where, if a counselor stands too close, Jason can smash through and pull them out.

Phylodox posted:I always thought there should be environmental kills for the unopenable windows where, if a counselor stands too close, Jason can smash through and pull them out. It'd take a total retooling of some game systems, but making something like that Stalk-only would be neat. Maybe give Stalk a very limited see through walls ability, like you have to stand right by a wall to see counselors highlighted in a small area. Mostly I just want more ways to actually scare other players and/or get scared, and being able to break doors or windows to grab counselors would be great. Like if a counselor is standing right by an inner door and/or in the process of locking it, you could hit a prompt to break through in one weapon swipe into a grab, breaking the door instantly and putting them into the grabbed state.

I've played at least 5 bot matches on every map at this point and I'm ready to make the call that if you want even a token resistance from the AI, you play on Crystal Lake or Crystal Lake Small. The AI almost seems like it was tested specifically to work on Crystal Lake, and the small version even more so. Consistently on CLsmall the bots get a car going inside of 2-3 minutes. In fact, half the times I've played that map they've gotten a car started while I was still at the phone house on my initial patrol. They then do a generally OK job of making me bounce between the cars and the phone to keep them from getting the police call off...and even then they managed to call the cops in one of my rounds. I think it may have to do with a couple of factors. Crystal Lake is relatively flat in terms of terrain, unlike Packanack and Jarvis House. The only really hilly area is around the archery range and the boathouse, and since the boat doesn't spawn in bot matches, they never have a reason to be over there. Crystal Lake also has no water running through the middle of it, unlike Higgins. Water seems to really gently caress with the AI pathing. So those two factors combined, plus the relatively spread-out nature of the cabin spawns on CL means the AI is better able to direct counselor movement towards objectives. In fact it isn't uncommon for me to hear both cars being repaired at the same time relatively early in the match (pre-stalk, and sometimes even pre-shift). The roads, too, have fewer twists and other possible obstacles, making it easier for the AI to drive (the bots still drive like a Sunday church lady in terms of speed, but at least on CL they manage to get a chance to drive at all). Also worth noting, the hard AI rarely messes up the repair minigame. If it's anyone from Kenny or better in terms of repair, they *never* mess it up. Anyone lower will sometimes mess up once, but that's it. The AI also knows where all the possible spawn points are for guns and repair items, and usually canvasing for shotguns is high on the priority list. So basically if you're looking for at least a token attempt at resistance, play on Crystal Lake or Crystal Lake Small (small is a bit more of a "challenge"). The bots still aren't what I'd call competent, but they have a better grasp of what to do.

Regrettable posted:I came back as Tommy the instant the door kill animation started playing the other night. Didn't even get to see my head get smashed. in order to combat dumb motherfuckers who disconnect the second they get killed, jason now gets credit for the kill and the points at the BEGINNING of the kill animation, instead of the end. this has the side effect of making the game consider you dead immediately, so you can come back as tommy j right away.

Speaking of Tommy, it seems if he's the last bot alive, he really enjoys just finding a nice campfire somewhere and standing there doing nothing until the inevitable end. I've gotten him twice this way. Even smacked him once just to see if he'd get going. Nope Also yeah, I've teleported to the car at the very start of the match and found LaChappa had somehow already beaten me to getting the battery in. Some other bot quirks I've seen, they tend to have trouble figuring out that they need to get into the driver's side if the car breaks down and they flee. Also I have never seen a bot either stop for another bot to get into a car, nor have I seen them start a car and then wait for other bots. They just fix the car and drive off by themselves. They also seem to have the tendency to death grip any repair item they have, like I chased a Lachappa away from a car he was trying to gas up and then I left him to his own devices. Ten minutes or more later I ran into him again still holding that drat can of gas, he didn't even go back to gas the car up once I let off him.

I was killed tonight as Jason twice in a row tonight. Is that because there are better players just starting to play again or are there some other stupid shenanigans going on? I've never been killed as Jason ever so it took me by surprise. Also it seemed like everyone had shotguns and pocket knives Jesus Christ.
