Many people, especially newer editors, tend to think of the upper edit point limit provided by the game as "This is where the strongest wrestlers should be," at which point it goes without saying that international superstar wrestlers are up there with 200-300 points. This flies directly in the face of people who use lower point totals. It really depends what your power scale is. I've heard suggestions for individual wrestlers ranging all over the map, with, for instance, Triple H edits ranging from 150 points right on upward to the point cap, depending on who made them. I get the impression that some edit makers enjoy watching/using their edits to win matches, rather than to play/see entertaining match-ups. Why you would view watching AI wrestlers as a competitive thing, I've no idea. This is why I make all my own edits. unimportantguy fucked around with this message at 19:16 on Dec 25, 2017 |

The custom guy I made after myself got eliminated out of two separate matches by Krang, and worse, by being knocked the gently caress out by Krang. .....so I'm going into the workshop and adding a Brainbuster Signature. EDIT Although Krang, the actual brain, is in the robot's stomach, so what I should really add to myself is an abdominal check. I’d probably think for most edits based on wrestling video games, around 140-180 may be good with boss characters being around the higher end of that range. I had to debuff a few I’ve subscribed to so far. The move sets are solid but they just don’t lose.

There's an option in the mod suite to sort your wrestlers by edit points, which is super useful if you have a lot of stuff and don't know what needs to be nerfed + buffed. Honestly for me having idk Bayley and Rusev be unstoppable monsters that don't wrestle anything like they do in real life because some random person made them that way is part of the dumb charm of the game

Help me out here I'm confused. There are match ratings. But the match rating is just a number right? There are no simulation/management aspects (yet) that use the number. I don't get it. Unrelated. Once upon a time in TEW2016 I decided to start a local fed from scratch. This was on the 96 mod and I wound up hiring all the OMEGA guys. The save got erased when I switched HDDs. I decided to restart it. I decided since I basically ran OMEGA last time, I should just do OMEGA for real this time. I decide to start as booker because why not. This lasted about 5 shows before I looked at the product definition and realized that there was absolutely no way this product could rise above cult because it can't get TV time at any decent hour. And of course since I'm booker I can't change it ever. I really need to learn to never be the booker.

I dunno about DJKM’s edits. I downloaded a modern Triple H of his and man, he actually never wins a match despite having 194 points. It just seems like none of his moves actually hurt the opponent and his logic seems kinda off the longer a match goes. Armitage fucked around with this message at 06:51 on Dec 27, 2017 |

That's kind of the problem with DJKM77's stuff: He's a ludicrously prolific dudemaker, but because his goal is to singlehandedly make All Of The Dudes very few of his characters feel focused. He makes strong templates and then wraps tons of wrestlers around them rather than really embodying single people. I'm personally a fan of TheAvenger3's HHH, but at 220 it can be a bit overpowered (which is dubiously accurate, I guess).

Shot in the dark here, but does anyone know where I could find saves for the SNES Super Fire Pro Wrestling X Premium with 90s Attitude Era WWF/WCW wrestlers? Almost all the sites that I remember from 15-20 years ago are gone, and the Wayback Machine has only been able to turn up one pack. Thanks!

Yeah, that’s the impression that I got after playing around some more with his creations. Some are still really good, and he created a good chunk of 70s and 80s jobbers which I appreciate! There are still a few missing, maybe I should throw some missing old school jobbers on the work shop.

Alright since we're talking about TEW and since I've fired it up again recently it's time for... STUPID THINGS THE AI DOES. So I'm on the May 96 mod. Just started 1998 with my ground-up local company. Am currently making money and waiting until I hit the next popularity tier so I can justify hiring an actual referee and having more than 7 wrestlers on my roster. But onto events in the big 2. WCW basically took a gigantic bite out of WWF's roster, stealing Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Roddy Piper, Vader and The Ultimate Warrior, so almost their entire 96 main event scene. WWF has rebounded by putting the World title on Goldust, signing El Profe, and pushing Steve Austin and....Leif Cassidy. The duo have been world tag team champs for six months and have also wrestled each other for the IC title. So right now Austin is both IC and Tag Champ. Leif Cassidy is also moonlighting in OMEGA and is currently their #1 guy. So this is basically Al Snow, the game.

Testekill posted:I always just go with someone that has enough psychology to pitch in as a road agent so that I don't have to pay anyone That's what I did. Basically my choices boiled down to either Corino or Quackenbush. I chose Quack because money even though Corino is a little better. This was my second attempt at this. My first attempt boiled down to me accruing too much debt early because of a product definition that didn't lend itself well to sponsors and too much payroll (notably paying my ref twice as much as any of my workers). My roster as a local company (in 1996) - Shane Helms - Charlie Haas - Rick Fuller - Chris Justice (ie Abyss) - Lenny Lane - Mike Quackenbush - Mr. Ooh La La (a cheap as dirt worker with > 0 ref skill) Imagine a year and a half of monthly shows where you're just rearranging these guys. I am so glad I've moved up to small. Right now my goal is to be able to routinely do more than one show a month and still make money so I can reach regional before my entire roster retires. The good side is that it's really chill because you can only fail financially, not creatively. so if you can get out of debt before your company goes bankrupt the wind is at your back.

I created Riki Ataki and Jerry Allen before I was even aware of DJKM77's jobber template. It makes things quite a bit easier, and I've created some new jobbers that appeared in WWF/WCW, that aren't created by anyone else! I've also posted: Don Driggers Red Tyler Omar Atlas Al Navarro Dave Stoudemire Chris Curtis Arthur Washington Mike Thor John Valkower Ross Greenberg Paul Van Dale (Carmella's dad!) So if you're interested in classic jobbers to round out your roster, that's who I've posted so far. I'll be creating some more classic TV jobbers from time to time. Like Death Row 3260, who I was working on as I was making this post. He's posted now. Armitage fucked around with this message at 01:59 on Jan 2, 2018 |

Slothass posted:Is it worth getting 2k18 for $35 on steam if I’m just interested in making people and simming matches. I already have fire pro and love that stuff. There is no AI adjustments. So you can make real good looking facsimiles of wrestlers, with all the right moves, but they wont use them at the right times. Also, the pc really doesn't know how to play gimmick matches in an interesting way, you can put them in a hell in a cell, or a TLC match, but you cant make them do cool spots. If you really want the game, as a Steam WWE 2k18 owner myself, I have to say, get it on the PS4. There are more and better CAW's and creators on that platform, and the PC version just doesn't have enough going for it to make up for that lack. If you feel like modding stuff, there is that, but if you just want to sim, no.
