Anyone else is monitoring the Iran protests and getting flashbacks? Both the president Rouhani's softer response and Khamenei's hardliner response reminds me of corresponding Chinese leaders from 3 decades ago. If the Iranian story follow the Chinese script, the tanks will roll soon.

Just like the article says, birth tourism is not illegal and is a legitimate use of the B1 B2 visa. It's only illegal if you lie (because most Chinese people think birth tourism is illegal) while obtaining the visa, but now that they have ten year visas, you can get your visa saying you're going on a trip and then the following year get pregnant and decide to have a baby in the US. It would also be illegal to use public assistance to have the baby. It needs to be paid for properly. Most of these raids on birth tourism hotels are about misuse of mcmansions in Irvine against zoning and health regulations, rather than visa misuse.
