Deploy fairly spread out and converge on the nastiest thing the enemy has. Stridan Hux's and gives the Condition to Quickdraw, who Rages, uses E-Baffle to get a shot on the target, Omega Leader target locks. Then Shooting happens and Quickdraw gets another Rage shot, OL does his thing, and Stridan shoots with Focus. If it survives, slap a Stress on it with the title so it won't live another round. Everyone does a green, clears stress, and can repeat next time.

According to http://xwingcalculator.x10host.com/diceuilm.html against a target with 2 AGI (Average Ship)

Quickdraw will get an average of 2 Damage on both shots not including the possible Hux bonus, Omega does 1, Stridan does 2. That's likely 7 damage on average, and 12 at max. Small ships should be disintegrated and big ones severely damaged, and with the title stressed. QD is assumed to die first, with either Omega or Stridan finishing the fight.

How does that sound? Solid? Crap?

If you’re running Stridan and Hux, shave enough points to go with VI Backdraft instead of OL. TIE/SFs don’t like being stressed, doubly so if you don’t have any TIE mk2s to give them.

You really want to have pattern analyzers on both SF and Upsilon. Having FCS on Upsilon is tempting, but it's kinda hard to keep track on a single target. With pattern analyzer you can do stop + hux, while inspiring recruit helps you to not drown in stress. FCS can work with this kind of stop'n'go shuttle, but you'd need to downgrade Hux to Fleet Officer. There's a lot of play here. Dump the recruit and replace Backdraft with raging QD? Sure, but be careful with that stop on Upsilon.

Alternatively, if you really want to go hog wild with Hux and Stridan, and still stay in the FO theme try this.

Every missed snapshot and shot generates focus, and if you're too accurate, Hux is making it rain. Your TIE/FOs can mostly focus on evading and rolling. Be careful not to lose the Upsilon right away.

I got a copy of Tabletop Simulator for Christmas. A friend of mine and I ran a quick game using the Unified X-wing Mod and it was pretty fun. He was interested in checking out Heroes of the Aturi Cluster, and I saw a few mods on the Workshop that cover it. One was flat broken, refusing to load assets. Another seemed to look pretty good but I guess wasn't updated for quite some time.

I followed a link to another Workshop mod from that one to a HOTAC mod with AI/automated movement and I'm not sure if it was just broken in the first place or if I'm loving it up, but I can't even figure out how to change the pilots in it and there's zero help on the Steam forums for it :(

Have any of you ran this mod or something similar? At the very least, is there documentation I can read to find out how I'm supposed to start up missions?

Guri is the best SV pilot by far. Intensity/Virago/Mk2/Fire Control/Autothrusters, and Glitterstim if you can afford it.

The Mist Hunter just sucks. Especially now that the Kimo has come out and is by and large Just Better.

I ran a full HOTAS campaign on TTS using the automated AI mod and even ended up going elbow deep in the mod scripting to add more AI ships, so I can try to field any questions you have. However, I'm out of town so it'll probably be tomorrow night before I can check out the issue you're having.

Harpoon VI QD is good. Harpoon VI Vader is good.

Add a mediocre third ship (a harpoon nu, a bomber buddy, omega ace with crack shot and optics) and you've got one of the best lists in the game right now.

Quickdraw is fine (might want Harpoon instead of Cruise), but your gunboats are way too heavily loaded. You'll never use autoblaster, ion, AND the missiles in the same game.

You either want three Nu Squads with Harpoons/chips/title, or you want to go up to Rhos with Harpoons/chips/maybe extra munitions, and an EPT like predator or deadeye.

Hello all! I'm looking to get into X Wing and I have a Warmachine Khador army that I don't currently play. This post recently appeared on the Warmachine Trades Facebook group.

I have about $1150 MSRP in Khador models which typically sell for 50% MSRP. So $675 approximately. I really like the Imperial / First Order and Alliance / Rebel ships. Not so interested in Scum ships. Is this a good lot to trade for, or should I look for another lot, or try to sell my models and buy more targeted ships that I actually want? I realize the answer is probably, " Do what's best for you.", but i'm asking for your opinions. What would you do in the same position? Thank you very much!

If you are going to be playing in tournaments, the scum ships come with some decent upgrades that can be used on ships of other factions. This person seems to have only 1 of most of the ships, so you are not buying too much dead weight in ships. Pricing it out though, it is still about 1/3 of the total price is scum.

It also comes to a decision on how complete you want your collection to be. There is a lot of dead weight in ships from early waves. In a lot of cases, maybe one named pilot is worth flying, the rest is over costed or just weak. See TIE Advanceds that are not Vader, E-Wings that are not Corran Horn, and B-Wings for examples. So it might be cheaper to just get the more recent waves of ships, and backfill in upgrade cards using eBay vendors. This will let you start dipping your toes into the local scene and make sure you are having fun before you sink $1000+ into the hobby.

My recommendation for people starting is always to buy things in this order, until you are tired of spending money.

1. Always start with the blue Core set

2. If you like it, flesh out the factions to get to 100 point lists. That's easily doable with a core plus Heroes of the Resistance and Imperial Veterans

3. If you still REALLY like the game, the following will set you up for basic level tournament play:
A second core set (with a slight preference to the red core just because it's different stuff from the blue)
Either the Ghost OR any two of K-Wing, Azituck, Y-Wing, or YT-2400 for Rebels
Any two of TIE Phantom, TIE/sf, TIE/fo, TIE Silencer, or Gunboat if you want more Imps

3a. Or branch into the Scum faction by buying any three of: Jumpmaster, Protectorate Starfighter, Shadowcaster, or Guns for Hire.

From here you are either well-acquainted enough with the game to know what you want/need, or you're well into the "I'm just buying stuff that looks cool" mindset.

I should amend that he's trading for msrp. Warmachine models are also often purchased for 30% off. So MSRP is the only way to approximately value two collections for trading. I've already decided to not do the trade. Thank you all very much.
