This is very very close to what it is, just without the can opener part. Thanks edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kR37TiyMrW8 This is as close as I'm gonna get, I think. I wonder why the dude chooses to pass over the guys legs instead of just finishing it like a double under pass? Defenestrategy fucked around with this message at 05:51 on Dec 30, 2017 |

KildarX posted:I'm trying to find a open guard pass. Consider if you're standing and you've broken your opponents grips and so he only has his feet on your hips. There's a pass I've seen before where you get a grip on the inside of both their pant legs or cup the front of both of their knees and push their knees up towards their head and off your hips. You then go and sit on top of their butt and finish the pass by sliding their legs to the side and you go the opposite direction. Anyone know or seen this and know what its called? I have a video of this exact pass but I don't think pornhub links are allowed on the forums

Not worth commenting on really other than to say that nearly everyone in R/BJJ is pretty much retarded and most of those opining on RGA and DDS have no idea what they are talking about. Eddie is still an RGA guy and other than that I'm not going to say much because Eddie is an adult and can speak and act for himself. edit: As a side note, me (ClassicSteeze on r/bjj), shotintheface2, OptimalHuman, OttaviaB, NewYawkCity are all Renzo NYC people. I think Darce_Knight is somehow affiliated with us but I don't know his real name. Literalply claims to be a 14 yr Danaher afternoon class guy but I have no idea who he is and he seems misinformed about how the leg stuff originated. Tangentially related but I always feel bad when I go on the BJJ reddit and Ottavia get's mentioned or posts on there. there's so much guys jumping on her and calling her a gold digger or otherwise and she's treated quite badly by people that never met her I find.

Would r/BJJ be the most active BJJ/grappling forum on the internet? Mixedmartialarts.com and Sherdog look like they're stuck in circa 2004 web 1.0.

There's also Bullshido that's still up but I was asking myself the same question. Content and discussion wise besides this thread, I wouldn't know where to look. r/BJJ sadly, is mostly dudes posting trip reports of their first week of classes and how they are hooked to the lifestyle, drama, product sponsoring, celebs that now train and weird lifecoach advice.

This is the best thread in my experience for decent discussion about BJJ these days. OT used to have a really good, but small, community of MMA/BJJ people (a few were notable) but they shut that subforum down given that OT is deader than SA. Why you'd subject yourself to Reddit's style of discussion is beyond me. Edit - I forgot that Hillary Williams also posted there a bunch and would give pretty cool blog posts about her trips to Brazil she'd take. No clue what she's been up to since 2011 though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hillary_Williams/ also Ben Stark who got onto TUF before losing his elimination bout was a regular there too along with photography guys like James Law & Ryan Loco. Was a pretty good subforum. Mekchu fucked around with this message at 13:07 on Jan 2, 2018 |

I don't think there's any science behind physical therapy, best stick to the cordyceps along with flotation tanks and exogenuous ketones.

Don't forget the daily affirmations of how BJJ saved their lives, how they used BJJ in real life, dank BJJ memes they poo poo out, and being generally creepy to female BJJ fighters on the subreddit and in their dojos. I mean, how many times does someone need to ask how to not have a boner when rolling with a woman before it becomes unsettling to the general population. The answer is never. I did like the stories the Black Belts post on the BJJ subreddit as they are inspirational. Then someone shared a video where a high school girl gets thrown to the pavement by her ex for being shoved and the whole subreddit rooted for the ex slamming the girl to the ground with the power of BJJ and I stopped going there. The Judo subreddit is pretty dead and but you get to see cool old school judo videos that people dig up from time to time. You do get people complaining about no leg grabs a lot.
