When Atlanta had it's bad ice storm I was stuck walking 6 miles to rescue my kid from school and passed a crowd of cars all stuck at the bottom of a hill. Some old guy had just gotten one lady's car out of a ditch and was giving her very specific instructions on how to get up the hill. She then proceeded to go up half way, hit the brakes, and slide back into shoulder. He was so pissed he got into his bright yellow Toyota Echo, hit the gas, and rocketed up that hill without a moment's hesitation. And that man could have been Albert Einstein. The moral to this story is find the lightest car you can and never touch your brakes.

December 30th - January 1st: Posts appear on Reddit and github claiming that Valve's anti-cheat services will ban any Linux users who have the string "catbot" in their Linux username. Gamers and Linux nerds outraged, etc. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/2475 https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgaming/comments/7ng8ad/valve_vac_bans_users_on_linux_automatically_if/ January 2nd: Valve responds that no, the bans are because a community of cheaters had sprung up on Linux, and a reddit user does some digging and finds that the people making the claims are invested in making the cheats. https://np.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/7ndjdt/valve_will_vac_ban_you_automatically_for_having/ds2dulw/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/7nkwb8/statement_from_valve_employee_regarding_catbot/ds2m976/ quote:The first response to the original GitHub issue: "Can Confirm this issue Existant on all GNU/Linux Distros that have Users and Steam support."
