Well, we have SWOs, pilots, nukes, deck types, ITs, intel, terps, seabee, ETs, and STGs off the top of my head. I think we might struggle to staff an engine room, but i'm pretty sure the rest is pretty well represented.

Like an engine room with full manning and watch rotations, yeah we'd be shortness. But we have enough nukes to get a whole carrier off the pier if we needed.

Staff it like Firefly, with your sole mechanic sleeping on an engine

I'm pretty sure we used to have some naval aviators but i can't recall. Plenty of AF pilots, though.

We also had some LCAC people.

I'd retort something about changing the load plan on the fly so you have to line up to pump in, then pump back out then back again but:

a) You're too young to understand why that could possibly be a bad thing for you and;
b) I have "Never go back to sea" tatooed on my dick in very large letters.

It would be even more dysfunctional than than the ship manning; we've got an assortment of NFOs and aircrewmen, and a few pilots who fly aircraft that don't use NFOs.

Actually there are some P-3 guys around, not sure if there's a pilot but we could probably kludge together a crew for that. I call dibs on the radar.

If there's one thing the Navy has taught me: you can take anyone with a 40 ASVAB and give them sufficient manuals and procedures to follow that (assuming they read and give a care) they will perform literally any job satisfactorily.

Literally any job. It doesn't matter what your rate/designator is or was, you can do EVERY job in the Navy to some minimum standard.
