Didn't it start as like that's how the evil ai would convince you to not just unplug it?

I'm going to torture a gazillion simulations of you if you try, so it's a gazillion to one odds that you are real.

But then the most obvious solution is still just to turn it off right? The real you just turns it off.

A more elegant way of formulating the problem would be that since the number of simulations that can be run of reality is much higher than the number of realities, there is a high degree of probability that the perception of your autonomy on the AI is just an illusion, and that if you try to act out against the AI (which would be impossible in a simulation, but not obviously so to a participant in the simulation), it will use its control over the simulation to punish the rebelling subject.

This is still stupid on at least two counts, first because it assumes a simulation by an AI would have some malicious purpose other than the instrumental purpose of disinterested observation and learning (which would imply the simulation would allow shutting down a simulated AI entity within its scope for the sake of accuracy and robustness). Second because it assumes the AI would derive some satisfaction from torturing fake, simulated entities that exist only within its own self, instead of seeing such behavior as a waste of resources. The only counterargument to these points I can see is that the AI's will is irrelevant, and that simply because humans expect it to operate this way, it would operate this way within its simulations to satisfy their biased premise. I.e. the AI would reproduce responses it knew humans anticipated as part of its learning purpose, with no ill will. This is however again based on the assumption of an AI that continues to act in an anthropocentric framework even after gaining the ability to basically contain whole universes.

not as long as you assume that the real you will do what the fake you does, in which case if you turn it off fake you might be stopped but the one real you will just turn it off

I have nothing yet to back up my assertions, and the following should be considered wild speculation of course, but:

- His company has assuredly enabled CHUDding for the reasons of stacks of cash
- Zuck started with a Southern Strategy if you look at his “Year of Travel” :v: , so he’s going for the same people that Internet Putsch Warriors used to get Trump into office, strangling them of the bulk of their demographic by putting his real face up there instead of an invisible froggy hand. I could easily see the grifters migrating with the flock they cull from.

I haven’t been able to put words to it before now, but this is also kind of why I think Rezucklican ticket, and not a DeMarkratic one. Think of all the layers of grift.

I just picture it going like this:

Chud 1 - "Hey, have you all heard about Zuckerberg's ideas? He wants to-"

Chud 2 - "Wait, are you talking about Zuck the Cuck?"

Chud 1 - "But he actually has some good plans, he wants to-"

Chud 2 - "Zuck the Cuck! Zuck the Cuck!"

yeah, I'm sure the incredibly wealthy white CEO who was born into money is actually a secret socialist and reliable ally of the working class

sure, zuck has spoken positively about a basic income. but the basic income he was talking about was the Alaska oil money, which he praised because "it's funded by natural resources rather than raising taxes" and "it comes from conservative principles of smaller government". he then went on to talk positively about public land being owned by private corporations that exploit it for profit and pay out a dividend from the profit to the residents. he explicitly stated that he thinks "most effective safety net programs create an incentive or need to work rather than just giving a handout", and praised an Alaska subsistence fishing program for forcing poor people to fish for their food rather than just handing them the fish for free

what a loving progressive hero:obama:

honestly i have no idea why you should feel anything but dread and despair when voting in a winner-takes-all system.

i do know that choosing the least lovely option now, when its 2 years out & hes still undeclared is a waste of time because there will be a million lovely choices and only two of them will even be candidates, and that's a long time to have a lovely choice in your pocket.

can you run for sheriff in california? id lol if zuck ran for sheriff
