When no one was looking, Lex Luthor took forty caiques. He took 40 caiques. That's as many as four tens. And that's terrible.

Battle Pigeon posted:Ohtori has one of the metal tube types on the way as well! But as a small raging conure he's unlikely to get the same results Bonnie did. She plays with them. But her real means of playing is trying to destroy everything. She has thick hard plastic that she is slowly taking bits out of and will get through it in the not too distant future. And anything acrylic she goes straight for the seems and starts making progress on their destruction. New Years resolution is to try and take more videos and photos of everyday life. So two new videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EcvmsHMaubw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aazIMhQwyMs

Ohtori also has some. In serious cases they can indicate liver issues, in his case it's from contact-rough playing and climbing around, and being handled

mikerock posted:Scout has those dark spots too, they started about a year ago and have gotten worse. How old is Griddle? She's about two years old. It's half bronzing and half barbering - you can see on the edge of her feathers where she's been trimming them. I understand the black spots on the feathers can be caused by overgrooming or just friction. Griddle likes to sleep against things so she ends up rubbing the pigment right off her feathers.

They are my dream parrot because hoo boy that's a big financial/time investment for a single adult human being making under $30k/year right now, rescue or or otherwise. But someday, maybe Both the ones I've met have been gentle, confident birds in a way that spoke either to general temperament (maybe) or obsessive time/money investment (in addition to the emotional investment) on the part of the owners or past owners (more likely).

That video was viral a while ago (particularly among South Carolina Gamecock fans) and it pretty much proves that birds are just fashionably-dressed dinosaurs.
