Peter Morency is literally needing to be purged from the DSA. Flat-out purged. He (admits to) screaming and crying and hyperventilating over the DSA 'not contacting the Disability Working Group' (they did and had the contact info wrong, guess whose loving fault that was in this case as well)? I don't want to tell people to grow up and stop being mentally ill, but this guy needs to grow up from being 12, stop being clearly the stupidest loving retard in the DSA organization by a mile, and then kill himself when he recognizes how damaging his behavior really is. This guy disgusts me on a very personal level. If he or I or anyone else behaved in the way he does in real life, they'd be rightly sheltered from any meaningful interactions within the org and closeted away from public view. Because they loving reflect badly on the rational adults.

I saw some RT on my timeline of some random person on twitter mention Amber Frost loving up and I spent literally 30 minutes googling and then searching her name on twitter just trying to find out what the gently caress happened. 50% of it was just people saying she was a piece of poo poo who needs to be purged without explaining what she did, and 50% was people listing past "infractions" that made the poster seem like an insane person. Finally I figured I'd come here and read the last few pages and I guess I kinda get what happened but seriously can someone actually explain it in clear terms please? From what I gathered Amber works for some DSA committee thing having to do with medicare for all, and the committee didn't contact some organization having to do with disabilities (because they had the wrong contact info? was the organization important? were they supposed to be contacted?) and then some people freaked out on social media for some reason, and Amber made fun of them in a way that made the "reasonable" people who weren't initially freaking out decide that she actually was bad, and then she posted some other stuff that made it worse? And now a bunch of people are mad: a combination of people who seem (in their posts, which I have no context for) to have reasonable concerns, and people who just don't like her for dumb reasons To be honest the whole thing confused me because I thought Amber was the token extremely offline member of Chapo. And I still don't really understand what's going on because all the fighting seems to be on twitter which isn't really good for nuanced conversations. And I hope that if she gets "fired from chapo" (which I gather a lot of people are demanding) she just becomes the 4th host of cum town because those are the best episodes. Okay I've spent too much time on this already so please confirm/deny if Amber wants to kill disabled people, love you, bye.

This is why social media is horrible. Every post is interpreted as performative, nothing can be kept private and the only context that matters is the reader's context, which is completely outside of the control of the author. It completely obscures the intentions of strangers and ensures stupid petty drama like this continue. The process part of this, one WG previews a new guide and another WG says "we'd like to be involved" and then a mistake about contact info gets straightened out, that's nbd (other than DSA should probably have an accurate list of WG contact info).
