It's 2:40 because the poor Wii is struggling to keep up with the game at all. It is not even remotely as optimized as something like SM3DW was.

The runner and the couch were also dead as poo poo and couldn't keep an insomniac awake. Lastly some goon said that the runner themselves set the world record for the game and it's an HOUR less than the estimated time given during the marathon. It was a giant pile of poo poo.

Is it still worth it to play ResiEvil 3 nowadays? I've picked up a couple of RE games on Steam (REMake, Resident Evil 4, RE: Revelations), but 2 and 3 still seem to be held in somewhat high regard.

Oh hell yeah, among the PSX titles 3 is my favorite. It's shorter than 1 and less ambitious than 2 but it's got great atmosphere and pacing and you also fight a giant penis.
