In the mean time two out of the four legitimate businesses that took bitcoin stopped. Definitely not a scam.

i've been withdrawing 1000 at a time without any issues. the only time i've ever had an issue transferring money was when the whole site goes whacky from traffic or trade volume.

looking forward to someone showing up in court and trying to explain to a judge that they have a legally binding contract that was generated on a public blockchain by a company based in the netherlands powered by an international, unregulated digital token marketplace

"Site not working well for some people" is quite a stretch from "$50K of my money is gone and Coinbase has not returned any phone calls or emails for 3 months now".

We're pointing out that giving money to site that has 0 obligation to give you anything back at their whim is stupid, especially given plenty of evidence that they're doing just that.

Even if we grant that these problems are more due to incompetence than the dark paw of Tibanne, it sounds like it's a pretty widespread problem. Then again, it is being protectively cloaked by this attitude, so the music can play a little while longer.

doubtful, there is pretty much 100% overlap between "people who invent crypto currencies" and "people who think deflation is preferable because they are contrarian retards with no actual understanding of money or wealth despite having tons of opinions about how inflation is theft and fiat money is a fraud"

also the whole advantage of fiat money is that it gives you more policy space. delegating monetary policy to a distributed algorithm is basically giving up and saying "we have no idea how anything could or should work"

They don't make tons of money, they're selling a dream. These, plus the ponzis like BitConnect are the actual scams in this space.
