So just to share fun trivia: there is an actual rare blood type that can only receive blood from other people with the exact same blood type: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hh_blood_group Basically, the blood types are based on chains of sugars on the surface of the blood. Type O has a 4-unit chain, Type A And B are both 5 unit chains that build on the “O” type 4 unit chain. People with Bombay blood group only produce the first 3 units of the “O” chain. As a result, they’re like super-O types, and can give blood to anyone but can only receive blood from people with the Bombay blood type.

^^^Slacktivist posted:Yet while the KJV’s use of the word “unicorn” wasn’t the best translation, it also wasn’t quite what we might think of as “mistranslation.” The Hebrew word the KJV renders as unicorn is re’em, and back in 1611, nobody really knew what that word meant. For the translators in 1611, re’em referred to some vaguely imagined mysterious wild creature. And for them “unicorn” also referred to some vaguely imagined mysterious wild creature. So for them, at the time, it was a reasonable suggestion. It was a legitimate bit of guesswork on their part. Tiggum posted:He knows he can quit, right? Since we don't see many strips from the UK here, I'm going to be posting a couple of old strips that I liked growing up. First up is The Perishers: These are from the 1988 bumper collection, so were probably first published 1986-87 or so. By this time the strip had been going on since 1959 and was in a pretty comfortable rut. You will certainly see repeated themes and situations if you stick with strip long enough, so beware. Likewise, while I remember enjoying the strip growing up, I haven't seen anything of it for nearly 30 years and I have no idea if it stands up today. Come with me (on my stupid loving journey) and we'll find if it really was any good. I'll try to post strips twice a week.
