Rebel Fenn Rau is really good. And his ability lasts for an entire round, so ships that can shoot multiple times per round cannot modify any of the shots.

I was using Corran against a Rebel Fenn, and it really sucked not being able to modify my double-tap shot.

I immediately latched onto the Sheathipede as the best ship of the wave, and I'll stand by it.

The gunboat isn't great, it's just good: it's harpoons that are great. We'd probably see them with other ordnance or HLCs if harpoons didn't exist.

The Silencer is perfectly costed for the aces (if it were cheaper it'd be broken as gently caress). Kimogi-lols are only viable at all because of harpoons.

But the bug shuttle? Holy poo poo it's amazing. It's yet another piece of combo tech for Rebels. It's viable as stress control, as damage mitigation, as anything except dealing damage to aces.

What are good counters to Fenn? Just concentrate fire on him first?

That, or just stressing him, ideally double stressing him if possible.

I did a couple of matches with QD nuboats vs fenn/kanan. The first game I concentrated my fire on the ghost and did like 8 damage to it: big mistake. I eventually lost.
The next game I basically locked and beelined for Fenn with my gunboats, fired three harpoons at it. One was without a focus and only 3 dice and didn't do any damage, the next was a Fenn ability shot that didn't do any damage, and the last did like 3 damage. Fortunately, I had Fenn in the corner and my QD chased down and killed him, for the loss of one of my gunboats. I eventually won after I was able to split and reload my two remaining gunboats.

Lesson learnt: in a fenn/kanan list (or really, any list), always gun for Fenn first no matter what.

Ignore him, kill stuff anyway #Poeandfriends

(To not be facetious, SO many lists these days are designed around tokenless or mostly tokenless killin stuff that it's really easy to design lists to kill even without (spending) tokens.

Or just kill him he's softer than an x wing and has no native repositioning and lovely greens, dice and moves. Even with naked dice he ought to die quick.

The trick with Sheathipede lists IME from flying them is focusing the sheathipede down first. It's not providing much firepower but it's probably providing about half the list's action economy and will have basically 0 defence.

I have been practicing with double shadowcasters, and made the cut at regionals with it.

In 3 games against lists with Kimogilas, I have 100-0'd them every time. Such a favorable matchup for me.
They rely on target locks to shoot ordnance and mod dice, and I have countermeasures.
They are low agility, small ships and I have tractor beams.
They need their actions and have crappy greens (unless they have unhinged) and I can deal stress.
They are slow, and shadowcasters are fast.

Ketsu with Dengar, title, expertise, Assaj with Latts and PTL, both with scav crane and countermeasures.
I bring the biggest asteroids and put the biggest and meanest one dead center. Arrange the rocks in a wagon wheel formation around it. Goal here is to put Ketsu in the middle, slowboating around the center and chucking people onto rocks while Assaj rips around the outside or between rocks drawing fire and shooting follow-ups on tractored ships.

You don't need actions to hit anything with Ketsu with Dengar and expertise, so your actions are nearly always to rotate arc or evade. Use your tractors to manipulate range on enemies or plop them on rocks to deny shots. It's great when jousting two gunboats just outside range 1 that have you locked to use CM to bust one lock and stop the missile, and then tractor the second into R1 so they can't shoot missiles. Don't be afraid to tractor them out of your own arc and miss a chance for a shot on them if that means you're going to avoid taking a shot from them. This is your big damage dealer, and you don't want to lose Ketsu before you cripple their list.

Asajj is doing PTL every turn. If you rotate the arc inwards and then do those fast green turns, you can clear stress easy and stay on target. Focus and evade if you're getting shot, focus and TL if you're expecting getting a big shot against a tractored target.

The big learnings I had was to not be stingy with countermeasures. Especially if you expect to kill something in scav crane range that turn, go ahead and use them because you'll get them right back. You want to start out real aggressive, because trading some shields first round for 3 hull on Miranda or Nym is gonna be worth it.

"Snap" Wexley (28)

To make sure I'm thinking about this right: Start with them in formation with Poe in back, Jess acts a Biggs-Lite during joust, then Poe can break off to arc-dodge and Snap acts as a secondary arc-dodger once Jess bites it. Better?

Somewhat loose. I like to keep the rocks a minimum of range 2.5 from the sides and like about a 1.5 range spacing between the center rock and the satellites.
Ketsu really doesn't need much space, because you don't really care if you get blocked and you can cruise pretty freely with the white 1 bank and white 2 turn. The fear isn't that you bump a rock, the fear is that you land on one and miss shooting. But you also want to tractor small ships onto rocks, so you can't leave it too loose or else tractor barrel rolls won't get them there.

Much better. That list is surprisingly tanky, just FYI. If they shoot Poe, he's gonna take little-to-no damage from any single shot. If a big shot does get through, Jess takes it, and if they shoot her directly, she's quite tanky herself. Snap is hell on wheels against anything lower PS than he is, and is the easiest to kill...but also the least threatening against anything higher PS.

I'm not going to waste my time doing it, but I am pretty sure this is said every year during regional season.

Out of the three regionals I watched so far the winners have flown.

Kylo + 2 Gunboats

Nym + Miranda

Poe + Fenn + Norra

The winners I can look up on List Juggler and TTT.

Miranda + Dash

Braylen + Rex + Thane + Jess

Miranda + Nym

Chewie + Poe

What's the purpose of Genius in that list, some edge case where you probably won't be able to launch anymore bombs after this turn and you really want to get it far away? Other than him being 0 points.

Edit: Also, R5-TK. Is it to use a cheap ship as an Assault/Ion/Scrambler delivery system?

With an extra munitions token on Bomblet Generator, Genius can punt the bomblet once without discarding the bomblet generator.

Just to be clear, Genius doesn't prevent allow punting/Trajectory Simulator. Genius let's you move, THEN drop or launch the bomb by spending your Bomb or Extra Munitions token. You can use Trajectory Simulator every turn without moving first if you want to.

The best versions of the list use 2 normal deploy bombs, either proton or thermal or one of each, and bomblet on miranda. Then nym gets 4 launches if need be, and Mira gets infinite.

It's such a hideous list, it has bascially every single play mode available to it and it can be among the top ships in the game right now at basically all of them. It's horrendous and it makes me so not look forward to the System Open.

Hey everyone, I heard that Nym and Fenn are hot right now and I cooked up a real cool list feel free to try it out.

Sheathipede-class Shuttle: •Fenn Rau (27)
•Phantom II (0)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Operations Specialist (3)
Flight-Assist Astromech (1)

Scurrg H-6 Bomber: •Captain Nym (48)
Munitions Failsafe (1)
•Havoc (0)
Saturation Salvo (1)
Autoblaster Turret (2)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Cluster Missiles (4)
•Bomblet Generator (3)
Accuracy Corrector (3)
•R5-TK (0)

TIE Fighter: •Sabine Wren (25)
Stealth Device (3)
•Sabine's Masterpiece (1)
Push the Limit (3)
Recon Specialist (3)

Total: 100/100

Now I'm not sure if Stealth Device counts for Saturation Salvo, and you're going to have to somehow influence your opponent to concentrate on Sabine, perhaps with an appeal to their honor. Why, you could potentially put one damage on every enemy ship, every round, while Sabine refuses to die!

Stealth device straight up says 'increase your agility by one.' Saturation Salvo says 'blah blah with an agility value lower than the squad cost of the torp or missile card blah blah.' So yes, to determine if Saturation Salvo affects a ship, you look at it's total agility, which is printed agility plus stealth device, in this case.

If, on the other hand, SD said 'roll one additional defense die' or something, then no, it wouldn't have any bearing on if Saturation Salvo triggers.

Also note that taking damage from Saturation Salvo wouldn't remove the SD from your ship, as this isn't an attack.

My strategy for Hangar Bay is to bring

a) a list that counters whatever is "meta" and
b) a list that shores up the biggest weakness of the first list

So what's your triple defender list's biggest weakness?
